Snow Snow
I was still able to get around in the G with 8"of snow on the ground. These Blizzaks did a good job along with the slip control, however at times i had to turn off the vdc in order to get out of a couple of sticky situations. I just hate how dirty my car is now.
yikes, i wouldnt have ***** to drive it in that kind of snow. i'd just stay home or get picked up. btw. can you emphasize on why you would turn off the vcd ?
But you're in TO, shouldn't you be used to this kinda snow....more than BC? I drove the G37x last week during the big snow storm, and it did just fine. Not even winter tires, just the all seasons. Took things slow though, but in general no issues.
I would turn the vdc off if i was stuck. the vdc limits the tire spin so if i wanted to power out of a rut or ice i would turn it off. but once i was going again i would turn it on cause it definately helps when your tires are spinning on the snow.
I've got the G37x as well, but got a winter tire & rim package last week and it makes a HUGE difference. You guys won't be disappointed. And I live in toronto as well. Have any of you guys used that ONR cleaning solution? Just wanted to see what my canadian peeps think about that stuff.
haha...very true! It was kinda funny seeing everyone slip around when that first big snow storm hit 1-2 weeks ago and meanwhile, I'm just driving by and seeing this baby fly by smoothly. I love this car dude!
I had to abandon my car a few blocks from home last sunday. It got stuck going up a minor incline, but the main problem was the ground was covered with ice underneath all the snow!
In general the blizzaks do fairly well, but the other limitation that I've come across (which is the same for all other cars i've been driving, except its a little worse with RWD) is simply that when the snow reaches near a foot high, the car turns into a shovel and theres simply too much resistance to get moving forward.
