would you go 100 miles? 200 miles?

What is your limit....
Also If you were interested in making a deal on the car with a dealer, would they ship it to you? make the buying process as smooth as possible for you?

or is it a hassle. I am asking this because Local cars here have lots of miles mismatched prefered options for a G37, but i broaden the search out to a different state and I see so many nice cars with good deals.

It's crazy how my area get the sorry pickings sometimes...all the good stuff is gone, but in states like NY for instance you can get some good used G37s low miles for around the same prices...

 

For the right deal on exactly what I wanted, I'd get on a plane and fly wherever it was and drive my new car home. I did that years ago when internet vehicle sales were first becoming a thing. Local dealership wanted to offer $500 off sticker if I begged on a new Dodge Ram. And they didn't even have exactly what I wanted. Not working hard at earning my purchase due to being the only dealership anywhere close by where I lived then. Found an internet dealership, paid a $500 refundable deposit and ordered my exact configuration since they didn't have it in stock, waited 4 weeks, flew to pick it up, signed papers, headed home. Saved just under $3K. The cost of my one way way plane ticket was about $250.

If you are buying used it's somewhat different because you need to completely check out a used car before committing. Find a reputable seller. Discuss with them what you want to do. Find an independent shop in the area that does pre purchase inspection and arrange with them to inspect the car for you. $100-$200. Just determine if getting the car you want with the peace of mind of having it inspected by a professional is worth a couple hundred bucks.

A few years ago I was looking for a car. When I found the one I liked the seller send me a couple additional pictures, looked pretty good and was a great deal.
I ended up flying to Spokane, Washington to buy it and drive it back. Wow, was I glad I decided not to internet buy it and ship it.
The body, interior and engine were in pretty rough shape.

I asked when the pictures were taken, the seller said.....a few months ago

 

I'm looking to buy used and I feel the same way. All the decent cars are quite a ways away. The only issue is will it be as nice in person?

In the same situation now. I'm in Las Vegas and we only have 1 Infiniti dealership. And they only have a couple used coupes for sale...automatics.

So Im looking at California, Arizona and Utah.

I wouldn't mind driving 3-4 hours to look at a vehicle that I might purchase.

Would even buy a plane ticket if it was a sure thing.

That's why Im only looking at reputable dealerships. Don't want to chance it on a no name/mom and pop car lot.

Even willing to spend a couple grand more to get a CPO from an Infiniti dealership.

 

I would go maybe like a days driving worth. My brother took a plane to Wyoming and drove the way back for his corvette. It was a fun drive back

 

agreed. Im thinking about flying from Denver to Miami to pick a G, Id either ship it back home or might even drive it home, either way I know that Id save about $5000+ from what they are asking/charging here in Denver, so its more than worth it to me.

 

I flew from KC to Chicago for mine. I saved quite a bit of cash and got the exact color and condition vehicle that I wanted.

 

Idk if you have purchased your g or not by now but I traveled a little over 4 hours (about240miles) for my g and it was definitely worth it. I would've easily spent 4k more if my g was for sale in my home town..

 

I am on my second Infiniti purchased from the same dealer. I have a dealer much closer (7 miles) but chose a dealer 25 miles away. Got much better prices at this one

Shop on Internet prior to contacting them. They are only a couple of hours from Md. and the trip might very well be worth your while.

I'd fly or boat to China if the deal or vehicle was to good to pass up.

 

I just flew from Las Vegas to Seattle to purchase my G37s 6MT coupe.

Drove it straight home, trip took roughly 18 hours of driving.

Stopped overnight at hotel to sleep for about 6 hours.

 

Flew from San Francisco to Austin, TX. Car was shipped and took 3 days. I was hesistant at first, but very happy when delivered. Ivory Pearl was difficult to find used back then..
