question about buying g37

Hey guys I have a question about buying a g37. The year doesn't matter to me but I would like to get a g37s model.

So I'm 23 and mangaged to save up 10 grand to purchase a g37. I know g37s are a lot more than that!

My situation is I go to school full time and have a part time job that gets me around 500 a month.

My question to you guys is should I just save till I have enough money to get the car cash? Or would the smarter option be to obtain a loan? And buy off craigslist.

If at all possible (as in you dont HAVE to get a new car now) I would suggest holding out to pay cash. You will feel much better not owing anyone. I try to do everything possible to remain debt free. And with your income being what it is since you can only work part time, you dont want to strap yourself with a car payment. Just my .02

Hey Tyson, welcome to the forum and good job saving the 10k
I think $500 is tight budget.
Figure $250/month and also need to considering insurance and fuel cost.

Whatever you decide I would suggest calling your insurance company to find out the monthly payment.
I used to pay a pretty penny when I was your age driving my 280ZX and people would always say "once you turn 25 your insurance cost will go down"

Wow I would wait you are 23 you have some years ahead of you. Especially after you finish your schooling. You would be out of college with enough money to own a G37 not a bad way to start out.

Save your money and wait

+5 on the suggestion to hold off. you may be able to afford the initial purchase, with a loan, but the operating expenses of a vehicle like the G will put way too much pressure on your tight budget.

do you actually need a car? as a student you may have access to cheap transit rates, or if you live on/near campus a car is not really a "need to have". i know this isn't the fun option, but you'll thank yourself in the long run.

alternatively, if you do really need a car, find yourself a well-maintained "student car" like a Civic Si or something like that. cheap to buy, operate, and maintain.
