The mileage is higher than I want so I keep looking.
Just post up here and ill take a look and see what I think you should offer them

Hi all, I joined this site because my gf is thinking about getting a used G37X and doing research I came across this site. Elfjoker, what do you think about consumers using sites like TrueCar and Galves to get an idea of what to pay? I think the issue that we consumers have is that we may not be clear on what is good price? What my gf and I have been doing is looking at average prices from all these websites and coming up with a range we feel comfortable with negotiating between. If its ok, can you give you a couple prices we saw online and you can let us know your thoughts?

Its eljoker not ELFJOKER. I am 5'8'' 190lbs fool!!

My experience with these sites is as so.

Out of the 10 people that come in with a Trucar price quote, 9 off those offers are off by a few hundred to a thousands dollars.

Use them as a tool but dont swear by them.

I havent sold any one with a Trucar quote and its not because we didnt want to, but its because it made no sense. Now Keep in mind Trucar is not Big in my area at all, I would bet they are more accurate in bigger regions and city's but not here.

Use it as a Tool, because Trucar and KBB arnt going to cut you a check for the difference.

I bought my X coupe used.Had a great experience with the sales guy and had a deal done in less than 4 total hours.
My advantage was two fold. One:I test drove at 4pm Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
And purchased Black Friday before noon giving me 36 hrs to do my homework as we didnt even discuss price yet( but j had printed out their website listings)
Two: I had a deal pending at the Ford dealership up the street for comparable 2012 Taurus SHO, with low mileage. Just had to go back and sign the 33k deal

When I showed up at 830 am the Manager had the coupe washed and warmed up, waiting for me.
I drove it as I had only driven the '12 sedans on Wednesday.
I returned and said lets talk $$$

Their internet listing was just under 32k
I leveraged my pending deal AND other dealer internet ads listing both coupes and sedans at about 3k cheaper.
I bought the car for 30500 plus doc fee of 250, tax, title and demanded 2.79% as I was already qual'd at US Bank for the ford.
They Gave Me 3k for my pos ford Ranger paying it off... So I really got the car for 27.5k....nearly 3k less than Internet listing based on Knowing My numbers, market and other dealer numbers too.
BTW Edmunds said that my car should be should at 30k...so fair deal for me.

At the end 530 month for 66months and the Sales Manager "says" he made only 150 from me..and did so because " he's not in the business to collect cars"

I think he did it because he didnt want to lose to Ford, it was the end of the month, and he knows he will make money in Service...
And if I like the G enough in 2-4 years I may trade up

Forgot to mention that I knew from Edmund.com that my car had already depreciated 12k in the first year and another 2k each year following. So deduction 14k from original sticker of 43k was part of my math equation and negotiation.

Sorry about thatthat typo, eljoker. Btw, we saw a couple dealers and the best deal we were able to negotiate was $33,400 out the door for a 2013 G37x w no miles (premium and navi package). From what we could find, it seems like a great deal. They told us it was supposed to be a fleet vehicle but was never picked up. Is this deal to good to be true or are we missing something?

Hi eljoker.

Quick question. If I'm shopping for a used G and come across a dealer with one for sale for lets say 30K.

Where should I start an offer on the price? 27k? 28k? Or would the dealer just get irritated because I'm "low balling" him?

I had one dealer via email, tell me he would take $500 off the price. I was like $500 on a 30k vehicle is nothing.

Why are some dealers nowadays so unwilling to haggle on the price?
