Dealer cpo has body damage

Today, went over to a Infiniti dealer to test drive a car for member Photopro.

They told me car is clean carfax & service history.

Runs & drives ok, no issues.

Now I check the body, I notice the quarter panel & rear bumper had paint loose between the panels.

Then check the trunk, small rust spot by rear tailight.

Now I see this & ask what is this?

Salesman plays dumb, ok.

Now I ask for service records, he then tells me we only have copies of what was

Done at the dealership.

Now right on the service history shows left rear qp & right rear bumper was "repaired"

The paintwork was beyond sloppy, then they told me car came from Infiniti auction.

Not one thing was fixed, the entire time other than a tsb for the trans & a brake job at 17k.

Basically the manger comes over & wants to know what's wrong?

So I told him, omg the bs was incredible.

Now I know, this car is a cpo pos.

Told him have no problem with them, since they were so defensive.
other than lying & trying to hustle, good work.

Sorry, no sale gentleman.

Next.

Why am I not surprised

Many POS vehicles end up at auctions because there are many suckers out there looking for a good deal.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is

CPOs are nothing but sales scheme. I've seen cars with frame damage that qualified for CPO.

Agree, 100%

But this was not a to good to be true situation.

It was high price & honestly not worth even close to the price they were asking.

Maybe I'm not ase certified, but I know what I'm looking at.

Why does a dealership buy a turd @ auction spend 0,then have the ***** to say its in perfect condition.

They had to run the vin before they bought it, even if it was just cosmetic & not hit, it had rust.

Other than just not giving a crap or rip off honest people.

Can't trust ANY car dealers, they must earn trust.

They were just pissed, that I wasn't a herb.

just for fyi, about 90% of all vehicles traded in go through one of the 150 or so dealer only manheim auto auto auctions across the country. good job on finding the damage and not getting suckered by a shady dealership. some of good and some are bad. be an informed and careful buyer.

Now I know why used cars have so much profit.
To bad they lost a real buyer, not me for new member on our forum.
I mean everyone has heard of some shady things with used cars, but other than useless carfax, salesman claims he is not a technician he doesn't know about body work etc.
No integrity.

There are good apples and bad apples.

I found a good apple and purchased two thus far.

And I would buy a third

My mom who had a g37 coupe, traded her car in with only 12k & was 2 years old.

^wow man really cool of you to check the car out for another member, helped him dodge a bullet big time.

My dealer experiences have been all over the chart, from insulting to overly accommodating, sometimes from within the same dealership.

The dealership is there to make money and although Im sure the managers/execs have training, guidelines etc. (no personal experience) for salespeople, it comes down to the individual and how competent and professional your particular salesperson is (IMO).

Some people are content with using shady business tactics with customers, others recognize the value of establishing a business relationship and treat their customers accordingly

PS Dennis Smith at Holman Infiniti is the man!

I was gonna reccomend
Kenny over at Infinti of masapeqa, aka da mayor.
Know him personally, they run a good place, he would have hooked it up.
Just this is what dealership he choose.
Now he's looking in pa & md.

I agree. CPO is a scam. An expensive one, at that.

Thank you, I did it as if it were my family or I were buying.
I have gotten beat on used car it's a bad feeling.
This was big money, not even reasonable.
The CPO is supposed to be good as new.
Plus busted lying, I mean seriously 1st they say it was fixed before they bought it.
They fixed it AFTER, young kid trying to be slick.

Heads up to all, stay away from Ramsey Infiniti.
Bosses lie, so underlings will to shady.

From my limited contact with them, did not get a great vibe. Not saying the dealership is bad, just the people I was in touch with seemed "crafty"

Either way real cool of you to help another member out, I'd do the same if I could (any member trying to buy from Admiral infiniti? )

thanks always for the recommendation. Thats why I left Infiniti and started up my own personal auto brokering service because people get offended at other dealerships (including myself), and do not want the run around.

You cannot help watch every vehicle and hand pick them for preowned because unfortunately a lot of "good" bodywork can also be done from a previous lessee or previous owner.
