About to purchase an '09 G37s - Question about paint scratch on steering wheel..

I am in the market to purchase a '09 G37s with 24k miles from a dealership here in Florida, very excited about it as I wanted a sedan to go with my pickup truck.

The only thing that is deterring me from this purchase is that the steering wheel and up/down window control buttons have the paint scratching off issue.

I am not purchasing this from an Infiniti dealer, and having them take the vehicle in tomorrow to get it checked out etc. I just wanted to make sure that hopefully this issue can be taken care of, no questions asked before I purchase it (since it still falls in its original manufactuers warranty date).

I spoke to Atlantic Infiniti (in Jacksonville) about the issue and they said it is up to them to determine if it is "wear and tear" or if it is an actual defect. Being that this vehicle is an '09 and only has 24k miles, I find it hard to believe that it can actually be "wear and tear".

I viewed a few other posts and it looks like this issue is obviously known but is still completely up to the dealer..

Wish me luck and let me know if you have any tips about going with this - I will ultimately tell the dealer I am buying the G37s from to fix it or we will be hitting a snag with the sale.

Thanks!

My dealer fixed those scratches no problem and no questions asked.

One of the complaints I have with my 09 g37s 6mt is that the steering feels very sloppy. i.e. driving on the highway and quickly turning the wheel from side to side. The car feels very unstable. I had to quickly dodge a trash can on the highway and was put in a fishtale. The edc kicked and and helped control my car. I also have hotchkiss sway bars on them and they are on the softest settings. The non-sport sedans drive so much better!

Thanks for the reply - yeah the Toyota dealer that I will be buying it from is bringing it to Lokey Infiniti tomorrow to get everything taken care of. Other than that the vehicle is absolutely beautiful, low miles and the price is right. Was in the market for a 335i (a bit too expensive for low miles) and IS350 (very nice as well) but I feel the G37s will be exactly what I am looking for.

Let everyone know what happens with Infiniti tomorrow.
