Buying advice: 2008 G37S 6MT - good deal?
Hi all.
I decided it was time for some sport + luxury and turns out G37's fit the bill. I previously have owned a WRX and RX-8, so I'm looking forward to the change.
I'm driving 2+ hours tomorrow to go check out a gray 2008 6MT G37S with 35k miles. Asking price is $26k, which of course I will be negotiating.
So far I know it has the premium, sport, nav, and tech packages. Supposedly is in mint condition, flawless interior and exterior, with the exception of a few tiny chips on the front bumper from highway driving. It has a clean CarFax record: 1 owner, no accidents, clean title.
Sound like a good deal?
BTW, thanks in advance! - this is my first post, and I hope to have many more to come.

Awesome. Thanks guys..
So turns out it is a fully loaded, every possible option you can get, Platinum Graphite, 34,400 miles, really good condition, and got it down to $25,500. Can't wait to pick 'er up tomorrow.

Hmmmm....
Chopper, where's this car you're looking at? The numbers are eerily close (if not EXACTLY) to a car I just put a deposit down for on Saturday...ACI Auto?

Ho-ly crud.
I just called up the dealership where I put a deposit down on my car and I heard exactly what I didn't want to hear. Chopper, you and I got some talking to do and that dealership has some splainin' to do. I suggest you hold off for a day before going to finalize with that car because I'm going to show you what they agreed to on price with me.
This is not going to end well.

My apologies then. If it helps you any, I negotiated the car I was looking at to $25,000. I think you could have done alot better with yours. I was actually looking to see if I could help you drop another $500 off of the price you guys finalized on.
WOW, still a coincidental odd turn of events. When I called the dealership up to give them my bank info they said they didn't know the car was sold prior to my visiting and they're returning my deposit. Best answer ever. Not that I care if the car was sold or not, but the fact that I made the 2 hour drive and left money with them only to to be told I can't buy the car after...Why didn't they tell me on Monday that the car was sold? It would have SUCKED even more royally if I went ahead and dropped off the rest of the cash like I planned and have them tell me this in person.
I'm going to get to the bottom of this and leave a review. This is unacceptable.
Chopper, I don't mean to rant all over your thread, bud. Please refer to my first paragraph in regards to the advice you were looking for (though it's too late anyway since you're picking up tomorrow...sorry).
