Question New here, about to buy

Hey all, just found this forum a couple days ago ive been shopping around for a used G37 for a few weeks & I think i finally found a good one, there was only one problem. When i got the car above about 60mph on the test drive, it had a little bit of a shimmy in the front end. I said something about it to the dealer, & they said it was because they had recently put brand new tires on it & one of them may be out of balance. The next day they called me & said that one of the tires that they put on had been defective and they are replacing it today before I come to (potentially) buy it. I am trying to find out if anyone thinks this sounds a little fishy & hopefully avoid picking up a vehicle with a deeper issue. Any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its a 2008 Journey coupe with 25000mi

Test it again to see if the issue is gone.

The car is still under warranty so it could absolutely be something minor like that.

I would test drive it again before you even sit down and talk #'s. If the problem is still there dont waste any more time. I highly doubt they even changed out the tire.

U def need to test drive it again....i have a feeling that it wont be fixed and i wasnt even there....defective tires should have been noticed before 60 mph if that was enough to cause the shimmying...sounds like something else is outta whack imo

went back & drove it & the shimmy was gone. Asked to talk to the tech in their shop who actually did the work & he said that it was a defective tire. Car drove fine & I talked them down to $25G out the door after trade tax tags & all fees. They're offering a 3 day grace period to bring it back no questions asked so I think on monday I'm gonna pull the trigger & have it checked out by a mechanic friend just to be sure. Hopefully it works out & I can be a new member of the G37 club! Thanks for the input.

what was the year mileage and options 2dr/4dr if you dont mind me asking?

i know it depends but im buying a g in about 6 months and im trying to figure out what is typical (i know it depends on things) amount you can get knocked off of a car.

im going in with no trade in and loan in hand so i guess the only thing that will be negotiable will be the price of the car.
