I definitely agree with knowing all the facts on your own before walking into the dealership. I did the numbers before hand so I knew what I was up against. It's a dog eat dog world out there. Unfortunately my experience above was with Montclair. I'm 29 but look like I'm 21, so I"m sure they saw me and automatically thought, "Caught a live one here." Oh well, I will keep shopping around and see what happens. Hopefully in the new few weeks I can post and say a deal was made somewhere and I'm a new G37 owner and join the club.

Did you call them and ask why? I always give places one chance to fix things..then I just go else where. I was at Riverside Infiniti and they couldn't explain some numbers and when I challenge them played dumb. The salesmen was cool. So I just drove to another place and laid the terms down. If you can give me what the online calc says (and within $10 over) I'll deal with you...and they did.

Call them up with what you want to pay...in the end they are out to make money. Not everybody gets the best deals.

haha..how funny..see i figured it was montclair..like i said i had a smooth transaction but thats because credit was beyond excellent. we already had a lower interest rate from our credit union but we wanted to see how low they would go, they tried to play us, by giving us a higher interest rate saying thats what we qualified for..(yeah right) so we had them call our credit union and montclair choose to beat it by a 1/2 percent less so we would use their finance company.....it pays to have good credit and to do homework..
good job on walking out...

I have good credit too, so I'm able to walk into any car dealership with confidence. I did email the sales rep back to reply to his email, and he was still acting like nothing is wrong. Like I said, I think I have the numbers figured out. They sneaked in the 4.9%, while telling me they're using 2.9%. 4.9% is the only way I can get the $615 per month. I had read a post just a few days before going to Montclair on the same "trick" - dealership trying to make the difference between borrowed interest rates they get and what they get from the buyer. No big deal at this point. I did my homework and didn't get made a SUCKER hehe. I will take my business elsewhere at this point. I will follow up with everyone in the next few weeks with some good news.

It simply boils down to this. There are lots of choices and we can pick who we want to buy a car from. If you feel like you're being taken..leave. And since we all different experiences it seems you can get tricked anywhere.

I pulled the trigger on Saturday and bought a 2010 G37 sedan 6MT. The search is over. Final monthly payment is at $529.60 for 66 months @ 2.9%. At 60 months it would have been at about $575.

I ended up dealing with Infiniti of Mission Viejo. I was actually pretty impressed with just the way the reply through emails so I took a chance on them even though they are about 50 miles away from my house. I will say the experience was night and day compared to Montclair - not just due to the sales side and the process of obtaining quotes previously mentioned, but even overall impression of the dealership, and operation style. I would definitely recommend Mission Viejo.

Like I said somebody will love/hate every place. Like you the second dealer was much easier and quicker because you went in with a mission.
