Used 2008 G37 Journey Coupe w/ Sport+Prem - Price?
Used 2008 G37 Journey Coupe w/ Sport+Prem - Price?
I've been looking into a G37 for a few weeks now and have fallen in love with the car. However, my goal has always been around $30,000 OTD and that's just impossible with a new G37 (and rightfully so).
So I think I may have found my perfect match. It's a 2008 Used G37 Coupe 5AT with the sports/premium packages and a rear spoiler. It has about 17,000 miles on it.
Asking Price: $29,205.
I'm pretty sure this is a great deal but I just wanted to make sure. Also, do you think I could negotiate down from the asking price, and if so, by how much? Do you think if I told them I want it for $29K OTD they'd do it?
And what are your recommendations for negotiating for a car that's pretty far away (~700 miles)? I obviously don't want to finalize the purchase without having seen/driven it myself but I don't want to go all the way out there without having a price I like, and I would hate to get out there and see they sold it to someone else while I was on my way.
I suppose I should point out that it doesn't specifically say it has the premium and sports package, but it mentions features only included with those packages. I'm wondering if this means they don't quite realize what they have on their hands and if they might charge more money if they figure it out...
Thanks!

I live in Cincinnati and purchased my car in Austin, Tx without having driven the car. You can agree on a price before you go to pick it up. Keep in mind that the deal is not final until the purchase order is signed, which you will do in person. I had my check in hand when I flew down there and got to do a thorough look over and test drive. I was not dissapointed. You want to be sure to run a VIN # check through one of the sites. As for knowing what options the vehicle has, if they provide you with enough pictures, one who is familiar with different options can tell you which ones the car has for the most part, like Sport, Premium Package.
If you want, PM me the link if you have one for the car and I will do my best to let you know which options you are getting.

So assuming this includes only the premium/sports packages and a rear spoiler, is it a good deal at that price with those miles? Or might I be able to take it down a few K, maybe to around $26-27K?
I think 27ish is a fair price before TTL, mention the fact there are other G's around and this has been sitting here for 4 months...the probably picked it up for 25 or 26 so they're still making money..
That reminds me.
It's been 3 months now and I still haven't found the perfect price for a G and I came across this.

Exactly what I want, Vibrant Red G with all options. It's a little on the high mileage side with 19,953 but these guys won't lower the price for some reason and according to them, they're a "warehouse" so their price is fair. So far, they've only lowered it to $33,000 flat, drive out should be around $35 ish.
What are your opinions?

Yeah exactly, I sent them an email with a couple of links to a few used G w/ same options, but at a lower price. They returned my call and they still won't lower it.
There's only so few Vibrant Red G G37S with all that options out there and this one happened to be close by, these guys won't work with me.
Any advices?

Had a friend go check it out, doesn't sound like it's in the best of shape. Advice on the following?
I went to the lot today but they were closing up shop so I didn't get in the car. From the outside it looked pretty good but definitely not babied considering it's a 2008 (which could mean was purchased 2nd half of 2007). There was some evidence the rims had been curbed on the driver side rear and front. The driver front tire had cracks at the base of the tread groves. All the tires would need to be replaced within a year in my opinion. The hood had a poorly repaired chip right at the edge of the hood, little left from center. The passenger door had white paint on the handle (I'm assuming from another car) and several dings. The car had not been washed since it rained on Thurs so it was tough to tell how the paint was other than the obvious things I mentioned. Body panels looked straight and didn't see any major gaps between panels. Glass and everything looked fine.
Point those things out, ask they lower it $1k or so..maybe more if there really are bunch of dings and the hood needs to be repainted. Although it sounds like they don't care for it too much so they might not be willing to bargain much - idiot dealers are like that, so sure a schmuck will come around and miss all those things you saw..

I'm just surprised with all those things you're only saying $1,000 off their asking price.
$1,000 was without the wheels/tires....they won't replace those or lower the price the $2k extra it would cost - no way.
