Its a USED car, so the dealership is going to tell you that the things listed above are normal wear and tear and have been considered when determining the final price of the car.

Well apparently it's not as bad as it first sounded:

The rims are minor - you wouldn't see it unless you were detailing your car.

The chip is pretty small - maybe 3 millimeters across. It looked like it had been touched up with matching paint but it is not smooth. None of these are visible from the photos on their site - I tried taking pictures but it was very tough to get anything to show up. I did not see anything until I was less than a foot away.

Dings and scraps were not bad. If the car were just washed on a sunny day you might see them (again, very close up) but otherwise had to tell. I'd say about average considering it has potentially been driven and parked outside since Oct 2007 (so 16 months).

Given that the damage to the car is actually fairly minor (see above), do you think that if I were to get this at $30K OTD it's worth it or should I pay less?

Yea, that's why I'm looking at this one, because I really want Athens Blue. I just love that color. Unfortunately I also want the sport package with an auto.

Which is why I'm asking if $30K OTD would be a good price for this...

It seems like you really want this car and are wanting for someone to tell you to go for it so you feel like you're not getting ripped off.

So.......I say go for it at $29k.

No, I want someone to give me an answer. Da mayor tried to sell me a car and nobody else answered, so I'm just asking for an answer.

What do you think the value of a 2008 G37 coupe with sport+prem+spoiler, 17,000 miles, and the following minor damage is worth?

The rims are minor - you wouldn't see it unless you were detailing your car.

I probably should have started a new thread as the description of the car has changed 3 times in this thread, but yea...is the car worth $29K? If not, what is it worth? If I get it for $28K or less is it a deal or would I have to go lower?

You originally said it wasn't worth it, but then I found out the damage isn't actually as bad as it originally sounded. So do you still think it's not worth it, and if so, why?

All of the said "damages" are normal wear and tear items for a car with that miles and i'd be willing to bet that you would have trouble getting a price reduction for normal wear and tear damages. If you are looking for a perfect car, you should probably buy a brand new one that nobody has ever owned or driven.

For whatever its worth, I saw 2 G37 coupes, 1 6MT, 1 5AT, both used with 14K and 19K, both S's with Prem, Nav. Both were priced at 33K on the dealer's lots. I'm not sure that you are going to get a G coupe for 29K, unless its a base with no options, then it might be possible.

You want a rare color (AB), and you said the yourself the damage isn't as bad as you first thought. For those reasons it seems like a fair deal at $29k - I would buy it personally.

Supply/demand my friend......most "normal" car buyers like white/black/ or one of the silver/gray colors.....bright colors tend to get produced in much fewer numbers. A notable exception is the WRX, which seems to make a lot of the "World Rallye Blue" cars, still my favorite color on a car..
