Residuals: Canada vs US

It seems to me that the residuals are quite a bit higher in the US, does anyone know why (harsh canadian winters? - should not matter as Northern US gets the same treatment).
I have been quoted 49% on a three year lease for a G37xS which is at least 6% lower than the US rates (on the 08 I admit so not exactly apples to apples).
Can anyone who knows why this is chime in please?
Thx

lol

Not all of Canada has harsh winters but I don't know why the residuals are so low. Last year they were around 50% but this year they're at 30%.
