Buy a New Car Now or Wait
Finally have a dealer offering any G37 at invoice. I don't know if I should try to go under invoice as it took a while to get invoice. If I do want to go under invoice how much under should I try for. Again thanks for all the help
I was told by several dealerships in Wisconsin and Illinois that the 09's are waiting in port to be released to the dealerships. Infiniti wanted the 08 G35's and G37 Coupes to be dwindled down before loading the market up with the 09's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is nobody on this site that has an 09 or has even seen an 09 yet.
Dr.
A Nissan exec just announced on Sunday that the sales volume for the first 10 days of October was the worst Nissan has seen, EVER. Infiniti's cash buy down incentive this year is a first for the line.
First, NNA will scramble to place additional incentive targets in place for the dealers.
Next, I suspect IFS will sweeten their financing (i.e., 0.0% vs. 0.9% financing) before Infiniti increases their cash incentives further. That means they will give you an additional ~$810 of financing incentive which you may not take complete advantage of, before they add $1,000 cash buy down to the 0.9% (like the G35).
Chrysler just announced they were going to increase their Q4 incentives (dealer and consumer) after reducing their production to the lowest levels possible (including plant closures). Infiniti is on the other end of the that spectrum as they are just starting production cuts and their brand is slow to add incentives.
That said, their sales are down significantly, 2008 inventory isn't moving as fast as they planned for, 2009 inventory is clogging up ports, and people are scared to spend with frozen investment funds and looming job cuts. The next two weeks should reveal additional bankruptcies of financial institutions due to the US Treasury's investigation and disclosure of the Credit Default Swap's true exposure.
The net is we're entering a perfect storm which will increase the odds for Infiniti to increase their incentives. Each day more manufactures make announcements to that effect.
Can you wait for a deal... or do you want it bad?
Good luck.
Just had another dealer say they would do below invoice. But I think I'll wait for the economy to implode first
. I'm actually looking at this deal at the moment.
PG G37 W/ 4WAS, Nav, Premium, Sport, and Tech Packages
Rear Spoiler
Carpeted Trunk Mat
Illuminated Kick-plates
22k Miles
Clean Car-Fax
$31000
If I don't jump on this deal I'll just wait for the 09s and see what incentives come about. Again thanks for all the help and opinions, they are greatly appreciated.

I'm struggling with this as well, my 350Z was totaled on Oct 2nd (I'm getting the insurance money later this week). My wife and I are sharing our Pathfinder at the moment, which is a pain.
Trying to figure out what I want to buy (leaning towards a G37 sport), and wondering if I should hold out as long as possible.
