Buy a New Car Now or Wait

With the whole bailout ordeal is it a good time to buy a new car or wait it out and see what happens ? Seems like alot of dealers are fighting for your business and just wanted to know if this is the right time. Too bad the 0.9% financing ends today.

If you plan on waiting for the best car to come out then your in for a long wait. i say if you like it, theres no better time than the present, assuming its within reach.

If it were me, "scrach sheild paint" isn't something im willing to wait for, unlike a twin turbo model or something.

either way, goodluck with your decision!

Part of the fall out from this (maybe?) bailout and just plain economic instability is the factor that banks will be limiting their available credit to consumers. This will include new car loans.

I think I'll go for it. I'll see what deals I can get from the dealers this week since the 0.9% expired. If I can not find anything then I'll go for the car in my previous post as it already has everything I want.

2008 Infiniti G37S Black on Black Automatic
Clean Title
Sport, Premium, Navi Packages
8,685 Miles
$33,500

Thank you all again for your opinions

LOL the 0.9% supposely expired since september 1st. I think dealers can offer what ever financing they want.. as my dealer told me before I got my car that september 1st was the deadline for 0.9%. anyways.... you can get the scratch shield paint on a 08 if you wanted to also... ask your dealer about it. They told me they can add the scratch shield protection but it would cost more.

Really?? I wouldn't think a dealership would have the utilities needed to apply Scratch Shield paint this early...

A dealer just contacted me and told me that the 0.9% financing has been extended until the end of October. So it seems like I'll be getting one by the end of this month.

^^ yes idk how they would do it.. but when I was looking for my 08 they said they can have the self healing coat added on to the original paint. The paint it self is not self healing but a special coat of what they add on to it makes the clear coat self healing in heat.

The dealership version of "Scratch Shield" is a teflon spray that goes on the current paint and clear coat. I had it on my black 03 Celica. It actually worked pretty well. I was warned though, that after a couple of years, the finish of it will lose its shine and dull. I have also heard that about the Infiniti Scratch Shield paint. Who knows...

Hold on for a few months and they'll be giving away 09's at invoice with cheap financing.. There is no reason to buy these 08's unless they start going thousands under invoice.

btw, the 0.9% APR (up to 60 months) has been extended until 1/5/09, but only for the 2008 model. It's on Infiniti.com. I'm thinking about jumping on this deal, but only if I can get a killer deal though like below invoice.
