trade in financed 08 g37 for an 09 g37?

Does anyone know if it will be possible to trade in a financed 08 g37 coupe that has 60 months to pay off for an 09 g37 in 4-5 months? I'm just curious on how this could work out.

You can pay off your loan and buy the new one without much of an issue except for the $10-$15K difference it will cost to upgrade.

I would only consider if you could come out of the 08 even. With depreciation this will be unlikely, unless you put a lot of money down, which of course you will lose a large chunk of this. Inevitably, you're monthly payment will go up for essentially a very similar car. I would hold on to your 08. The first year for a new transmission can be dicey, better off building some equity in your 08. That's the sensible thing to do. 2 Cents.

Why would you trade the 08 for the 09, there was almost no change.

Almost no change for the 6MT guys. That 7AT looks pretty enticing to me but no way in hell would I take a hit like that to upgrade to an 09.

i have seen people do it especially from a '06 Z to the '07 which they put the VQ35HR motor into that. Yes, you'll have some equity to factor in. Don't expect any special APR on the '09

You'll take a big hit, say the 09 goes for $1 K below MSRP. People are getting $1 K below invoice on new 08. Then factor in that you have a used 08, that the dealer will end up selling for less than $1 K below invoice. You'll probably pay $10 K difference for a 7-sp auto instead of a 5-sp auto, & "self-healing" paint. Trading in a 1 yr old car or leasing a new car for 1 yr is ridiculous in terms of depreciation.
