How much to offer for 09 sedan when they hit the dealer?

I have only bought one new vehicle and I did pretty well with the price. When the 09 sedan come out what number should I work with, the msrp or the invoice price. I plan to get one the day they hit the first dealership in my tri-state area. Thanks in advance.

I suspect that if you are eager enough to go to the dealership early in the 2009 model year then you will be paying close to, if not full, MSRP. The dealerships will have little incentive to deal on brand new 2009's when they probably still have 2008's on the lot and without any significant incentives from Infiniti (which, I believe, typically come in the late spring and summer).

I was negotiating the purchase of a 2008 coupe (middle of August) and could have gotten $4,500 off MSRP but decided to wait for the 2009s due to extra features, etc. I'll wait until next spring to buy but would not expect to get a discount anywhere near that number.

There is a $2000 Dealer incentive to sell the G35's as it is.

+1 if you are looking for a good deal you are not going to get it on a car that is just coming out. Wait till spring/summer 09 and you will get a better deal.

On 2008 but OP is asking about 2009.

Good luck getting anything less than MSRP on an '09 the day they drop.

I have called all of the dealers in my state as well as 4 other dealerships in other states. All have given me different dates to when they will receive the 09s. One said late sept, one Oct 1st, one Oct 24th the rest were vague with the exact date but said some time in october. I will get the car the day it hits the dealer and post up price paid. Thanks for the responses.

I'd go with the 08 G35 Sedan, the way the 09 looks they'd have to pay me.
