I can't help myself anymore, I am getting one!
I'd wait till I had a job to support a 45K car first unless you've talked this over with your dad and he's willing to support you and your payments in case you faulter on the low skill jobs you'll be chasing for the next 5 years.
Before a car, I'd make sure you have a decent Job, followed by a decent home(helps with taxes) and then after that work on the car. Took me 45 years.., my dad's not so awesome
, he's just a good parent, good luck.

I don't want to sound like a grandpa but this is one of the reasons why the economy is going to ****. People are buying stuff they can't afford and end up having their stuff foreclosed, repossessed or get into a load of debt.
To the OP. Figure out what your priorities are. If you think that you can afford the car and it wont put any strain on you, then go for it.

Lol at civic. I have had a G35 for the past two years, I see no reason to downgrade. I have already talked about it with my father, he is willing to help me out with payments if I happen to lose my job until I can get a new one. I think I will be A ok.
Welll in that case party on Garth... life is short and I am one that believes you should live it to the best of your abilities. You know this will just be the start right... once you have one, you'll be scrapping to mod it and it will suck all your funds like a ***** with vengence, nobody drives a stock G37 for long. Modding a lease is a bit of a pain to boot. Think long and hard about this... sooner or later you'll need to learn how to control the "I can't help myself anymore, I'm getting one!"

I'm pretty sure a COLLEGE STUDENT knows what theyre doing with their life, if he can afford it, then why not. It's not like hes a sophomore in highschool thats rolling around in a G37.
Have you been to a university lately? 50% of the cars there are either BMW's ore Mercedes... its all the rage to have a expensive car.

Payments can vary quite a bit actually, depending on what you want. Some calculations from my site based on the following:
* G37 Sport + Premium
* MSRP $40215
* Invoice $36856
* Standard inception fees plus tax (1st payment + fees + taxes)
* 24 Month /15k – Residual 71% of MSRP – .00190 Base Rate
* 36 Month/15k – Residual 61% of MSRP – .00216 Base Rate
24mo Payment: $470 at invoice, $616 at MSRP.
36mo Payment: $474 at invoice, $793 at MSRP.
If you want to keep it under $500, looks like your gonna have go ask the dealer for below invoice price or put some money down.

My 17 year old son has watched me pay cash for everything from cars to major home improvements and so on. Sounds like your dad has the same "no debt" mentality and you should follow that course if you can. Buy within your means and if that precludes the G coupe at this time for you than so be it. Work hard and you will be rewarded with a new G and more if that's your desire.
Dream big.

For God's sake, do not have that attitude when you walk in the dealership. When you walk in, you act as if you think its a POS car and your only getting it because you can't afford something better. If you go in excited to buy a car, they will notice and own you in full blown price. Look on these forums to have an idea what others are paying.
