To S or not to S - that's my question

Even though i'm 85% convinced that I'll be waiting for the '09s to come out, there's still a chance I may end up pulling the trigger on an 08. That said, I was hoping to hear about the real-world driving differences you all have experienced after driving both Sport and non-Sport models (i've only driven an S so far).

I'm well aware of all the features of the Sport Package... what I'm looking for is driver commentary on these features. While I don't doubt that I'll find myself in some highway racing situations, I don't see myself getting into drag/track racing... although it would definitely be nice to have the goods in case this changes.

Is the day-to-day ride quality of a non-S G37 that much "better"? Are the seats more comfortable for longer-distances in a non-S? How about figuring in the option of getting a non-S Journey but with the performance wheels/tires? Love to hear some feedback on your personal experiences.

Well I've never driven a "non-Sport" G37 so I can't really help you out much there... But I can tell you that the Sport package is GREAT! It handles great, LOVE the 6MT, Brakes are great, and I can't say that I have ever caught myself saying "Man, I should've gotten the Journey"... Which I'm sure some (not all) Journey owners have said about not getting the Sport... Seats are comfy, ride is great, and it handles EXTREMELY WELL at high speeds in my opinion... Had it up to 130+ after Cars & Coffee and didn't have any doubts in the car's capabilities weaving through light traffic next to $150K+ Lambos, Porsches, and Ferraris... My car had all of them impressed...

Save your pennys, the handling is maybe a little stiffer (body roll), ride height is identical, springs are identical, just get the performance wheel and tire package, that's really all you want is those cool wheels.

if you can afford it, get it! if you can't afford it, no big deal, it's still a G37.

I think it depends on how far you will go with mods...if your going to change everything like a BBK and such go base......test both then decide bro!

The seats, brakes, suspension and wheels is well worth the "S" price over the plain G.
I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I'm so glad I went with the S and 6MT. It's just so much more fun to drive that way.
