Yeah or they showed him an inflated invoice price. I bring my laptop into every negotiation, type out all talk of numbers in excel, double and triple check every thing.

Oh by the way guys, edmunds is wrong about the holdback. Infiniti dealers make 1.5% off MRSP. Not the 1% off mrsp and 2% off invoice.

I live in Canada but bought it from Fairfield, California. You cannot always use the 3-5% range, as market conditions can dictate things. The US economy is close to a recession, dealers are discounting big.

I am well aware of the difference between sticker & invoice. I got the invoice info from Edmunds.com before making my offer, & their (the dealer's) invoice #s matched. $500 below invoice, not $1 in any other fees (I stipulated no other fees in my offer).

Word.

Most dealers operate as if the right to buy low and/or sell high is theirs and theirs alone. As mentioned by others, I too would like to see the day when car manufacturers sell their products direct, without a middle man sticking it to consumers on every front.

Everyone wants more than what their trade is worth, and wants to pay less than dealer cost on the new vehicle.

i've heard/seen people get up to $800 off a brand new loaded g37s.. 3k miles is more than I have on mine and i bought it about 4 months ago.

Find a different dealer whos not going to try to rip you off like these guy sare.

Every dealer wants to pay far less than what a customer's trade is worth, and, if they can get away with it, will steer uninformed buyers towards paying "MSRP", 60/72-month terms at high in-house rates, loan origination fees, extended warranties, and/or all the other profit centers people will often buy because they're mentally/spiritually exhausted after spending 4 hours at the dealership getting rodeo'd by 3-4 different personnel - for a new vehicle.

One look at the policies that the snakes with (D)s and (R)s next to their names are pushing on the people and it's obvious they want to go communist...
