Single exit exhaust

Hello, i know there was an old post where someone asked this before but i was wondering if anyone else had tried this or could give me some advice on a set up since i'm by no means an expert in exhausts.

i'm not set on the idea yet, but i have an 08 sport coupe and i'm thinking of upgrading the Y pipe and possibly ditching the dual exit exhaust to run a single (3inch ?) pipe out to a single muffler.

I will be staying NA

Single exit exhaust

Just curious, isn't 3inch exhaust more for FI, whole 2.5-2.75 is more N/A.

that's what i thought too but i'm not sure what size piping would be best. doesn't the stock exhaust just split into 2 2" pipes after the y pipe anyway? a single 3" pipe would only be slightly larger

but then I would then need a y pipe with 3" outlet since i believe stock is 2 3/8", right?

aside from weight savings.. unless you want it for aesthetics.. dont see why you would go this route when there are true duals available..

So after chatting with John @ Z1 motorsports, i ended up dishing out a bit extra and going with the Tomei expreme titanium muffler and y-pipe. I did not know they had an application that fit the g37 so thanks for the heads up monytx!

The claim is the entire catback weighs in at less than 18lbs with some gains and i also personally like the look of a large single exit over dual

unfortunately i won't be dyno-ing before and after so those power claims will be a mystery until i do, but i'll keep everyone updated when it comes in and i install it
