How can i get a deposit back?
I kind of went ahead and left a deposit with one dealership on a lease purchase but might back out of it since i most likely got a better deal at another dealership through a connect.
Now how do i back out of this deposit without 1) coming off like a jerk 2) without them pressuring me into keeping the deal
Also, if they did a credit check through the financial department already, can i have them transfer that paperwork to the other dealership, or are they going to have to pull up my credit report again?? (dont want to affect my credit score)

well, asking them to transfer paperwork would definitely make you come off as a jerk, and they probably wont do it anyway. however, look at it this way. you will never see these people again, so do what you want. the dealership has to give you your deposit back if you have not signed any paperwork, or it has been less than 72 hours since you signed the contract (in most states you have 3 days to cancel a contract without any penalties
Do not worry about answering why you want your deposit back, just call and tell them you are no longer interested in the vehicle and you want you deposit redfunded. You do not owe them any explanation so don't bother unless you feel the need to. If you've found a car at a better price you might want to metion that to them and give em a chance to give you a better offer. Other than that, just call and ask! That's how you get it back LOL
I think the credit report is through Infiniti Financial so you only have to do one every ~30 days or so, I think.

call them, tell them the deal is off. they will mail you a refund check. they definitely will not transfer your credit report to a competing dealer though LOL. the new dealership will run their own credit report.

yeah but even if its infiniti financial retrieving your credit report...its still one of the 3 major bureaus (experian, equifax, or TransUnion) thats fulfilling the request...so 2 inquiries from "Nissan Motor Corp" could still adversely affect his score since its 2 in such short time...unless Nissan keeps it on file for 30 days like u said without having to request it from the credit bureau then i suppose he will be OK. i know this because i recently got one of my free annual credit reports and it showed Nissan Motor's credit inquiry.
Yeah when i checked my credit report, it only said Infiniti financial services and the phone number listed was not that of the dealership. So maybe they'll be able to pull it up from there if within 30 days
The deposit was on a credit card

The next store will have to run the bureau again on you (if you make the deal), so it's advisable not to have it run 6 times to avoid excess inquiries on your report.
nah it was real simple to get the deposit back, just said im not doing the deal anymore, charge was refunded....everything is signed and done at the other dealer and i picked up my car today =) Couldnt be happier, great experience although a far drive to the other dealer
