Does anyone know the price of a 100K mile extended warranty for a new G purchased in Texas? Will they deal much on the price of these? I'll probably be buying this week.

 

$1700-$2500 my guess.

 

Ask yourself whether or not the extended warranty is worth the investment. Weigh out everything before making your decision. I bought mine initially, but had it refunded the next time I went in.

 

Yeah, it's a crap shoot. Can you tell me what you paid for yours before you gave it back?

 

On avg, most people will spend less on after warranty repairs during the extended warranty period, than what they sell the extended warranty for. That's how they make $, so from a statistical viewpoint, long-run, you are more likely to be ahead by not buying the extended warranty. Of course, we never know what may happen, but I'm comfortable going with the odds.

 

If you were buying a BMW, I'd say get it regardless of cost because you'll need it eventually.

I bought in Houston from CLI and the finance manager offered it to me and I declined. Since we had a good rapport, I asked him if he could tell me the actual dealer cost of the extended warranty. I don't remember the retail cost (maybe about $1400?) but he told me that their cost was a little over $500 or so and offered it to me for $650. I still declined.
