Invoice vs MSRP

I keep seeing these posts refer to buying at $500 to 1000 below invoice- are you refering to dealer invoice or MSRP? I find it hard to believe that g37s with $1009 dealer holdback are being bought BELOW invoice for a proift of 0 to 500...pls clarify.

I'm looking for a G37 6MT black/black premium pkg + spoiler...consumer reports indicates 37K to38K is a good deal...any comments?

People are getting below invoice because, they are negotiating for invoice and then getting the mfg. rebate on top of that. Invoice on your car is 36200 if memory serves, I would make 37k your absolute cap.

If "invoice" isn't the Dealer's actual cost, then what is?

"invoice" is the dealer's cost minus the "holdback" that they get with each G sold.

I got $500 below invoice in mid-late Dec. Tell them you want invoice + the manufacturer rebate (which doesn't cost the dealer anything). There is a $500 rebate for non-Infiniti owners & a $1000 rebate for Infiniti owners.

sounds great. I'll contact both my local dealers (Infiniti of Massapequa/Legacy Infiniti) to see if they'll honor that. One of their sites (massapequa) claims to have an overstock sale. What can I work with in that regards?

Exactly. Negotiate invoice pricing or lower (car and options both) for out the door cost. Maybe give them up to $200 for fees and crap. Then add in the $500 or $1000 rebate at the end from the manufacturer.
