Dealer wants $1400 after I got the car!
By the way, of course the number came from somewhere. Perhaps it was mentioned verbally but got lost in the shuffle. Perhaps, the dealership made a conscious effort to defraud the buyer. Who knows? The bottom line is, the dealership put it in writing on the lease contract which the buyer should have at least glanced at before signing.

"Sign here, here, here and here. Initial here, here and then sign again here, here and here and here and here and here and here...."
THAT's a sure sign to read over the numbers a 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. Are people that gitty over getting a new car that they lose all sense of reality?

As I've said previously in this thread I AGREE with you, he should've read the papers properly. However, what the dealership did was fishy, even da mayor agreed.
We're on the same page here, I don't understand why you're trying to argue

when i went to my dealer to pick up my car, which i had negotiated over the internet, they tried to pull a fast one as well........here goes.
they quoted me a monthly WITH TAXES INCLUDED IN THE MONTHLY PAYMENT. when i got there, the buisness office was tryiing to convince me that my taxes were not supposed to be included in the monthly and they were tryiing to charge me overhead. by this point, i was upset, discouraged and vulnerable. not to mention i had already ordered my G be tinted with Lumar tint -so i was already commited to the car after i was happy with the deal i was quoted. so i kept my cool and refernced my emails with my salesman and highlighted the areas in wich he established TAXES ARE INCLUDED IN THE MONTHLY.
after the scuffle, the manager decided that they were screwed so they waived the $350 tints and gave me a $50 gas card with my new G coupe.
the dealer took responsibility.
POINT IS. dealers want buisness. if they try to screw you and you really werent aware of what was going on then they need to do the best they can to fix this. dont get me wrong -its your fault as well for not reading the fine print- but at the very least, there should be a compromise from both ends. maybe lower the APR? or throw in some options.... also, im sure that even with that deal, the dealer made some commision. they have some cushion as well.
does the sales man still work there?

hold your ground.
if anyone knows anything about contract law... they know that verbal agreements also hold up.
while the contract might state a different amount... it is obvious that all parties agreed to the amount that happened. the customer wrote the check, the other end acknowledged, accepted... and gave the keys to the car.
that's proof right there that there was a verbal agreement of the lower amount.
