I called the VPP hotline for Infiniti today... it's up to the dealer to apply it or not. They (the dealership) have all the info required. So ... them telling you VPP is not available ... a bunch of nonsense. They want to milk the car for all it's worth before they implement VPP.

Vehicle purchasing plan. It's discount prices that Nissan/Infiniti offer to participating companies. For example, Cisco has a VPP that gets pretty much invoice pricing for their employees I think.

I'll probably buy (or lease) in the March-April time frame depending on where interest rates and money factors are at the time. Pulling for more rate cuts from the Fed between now and then!

Although I'm still trying to decide between the Coupe and the G35 Sedan as well. Sooner or later I'll make up my mind!

Thinking very seriously about it. Got an '07 Acura TL-S...really enjoy the car (and the look of it), but I'd love to slide back into a coupe. The G37 is a sweet ride, but I must condition myself to deal with the summer tires (sport model). Live in TN...not much snow (if any), but we have days on which temperatures dip below 40 during December thru certain days in February/March, which of course will limit summer tires' traction. Need more time to decide, I guess...

I am working on a deal right now. I don't see any reason to wait. I don't have to worry about snow tires. I hope to get something done by this weekend, but I'll have to wait on the car to be delivered from another dealership.

Just to add to what ucla_bruin is saying, he's talking about Plan D of VPP. There are four plans (A through D) that you may qualify for. Basically, A & B gives you the same discount (3.58% below invoice) as well as C & D (1.65% below invoice). You can check out www.insidenissan.com for more information on these plans. At the very least, if you have any friends who work for Nissan or Infiniti (Plan C), then they can hook you up if they're willing to do it.

I was fortunate enough to qualify for Plan A, so I basically walked into the dealership and got the car without any haggling. It was even sweeter since they offered 2.9% financing for 36 months in November and December (although I didn't qualify for that due to lack of credit history...BUT they managed to put me on the recent college graduate program, which effectively offered the same rate). Just make sure you educate yourself on everything about VPP. The initial offer they threw at me was more than what I was supposed to pay, so keep an eye out for any curveballs they might throw at you. Other than that, my experience was very pleasant (minus the long wait).

I'm just biding my time ... weather in the Midwest area is great (for January!) ... makes me want to get a G37S ... but the practical part of me will wait until there's next to no chance for snow. I want to buy Volks, not an 18" winter package ... LOL.

I'm looking at August and most likely purchase a new '08 model instead. Year-end savings, and by that time, I hope I have saved enough.
