Why does G37 Premium Pack cost $700 more than sedan?
Why does G37 Premium Pack cost $700 more than sedan?
Just wondering why people think the Premium Package in the G37 coupe costs $3,200 when the 2008 G35 sedan Premium Package costs $2,500?
the premium package on the coupe contains (1) more speaker [hardware addition], implementation of the "Drivers Audio Stage" (which rocks, BTW) [software addition], and Rearview Camera [hardware and software addition].
seems like a fair price to me.

We will have to see what the prices are like for the 08 G35 when it comes out.
This software better have been written by the most expensive soundstage software writer on the planet.
First, the 2008 prices are out. That is what I am comparing to. And, the 2008 sedan Premium Pack does include the iPod integration. So, $700 for one speaker, and the wiring and labor to install, plus the dual soundstage software.

whoops. totally screwed that one up. thanks.
Yes, the coupe options, except the Premium Package, are a little pricier than the sedan, about 10%. But, the Premium Package is almost 30% more expensive.

You're sure tuned into and really take the prize on questioning all aspects of pricing on this car.

The driver's audio stage is alright. It seems to be just mainly time delay on the right side speakers to equalize the path distance between left and front speakers so that it places the driver in the middle of the speakers. While it works pretty well for that purpose, I actually prefer the stereo w/ driver's audio stage off because driver's audio stage makes the sound stage really narrow. It sounds like the left and right speakers are placed almost directly in front of you vs. out to the left and right sides.
It also costs $700 on the coupe vs. $450 on the sedan to go from base to Journey, and as far as I can tell the only difference is that with the sedan you get rear seat air vents. So you get more stuff for less money with the sedan.
I maintain a pricing database, and this is unusual.
