Question about dealer hold backs. Is it advisable to even use those #s to help negotiate? Because from my understanding, it's the profit they usually keep to help w/ operating and overhead costs?

Dealers usually get offended when you begin to go into their holdback. That's the money they get paid to detail the cars and fill them full of fuel and pay Salespeople commission.

So if anyone is paying a price between invoice and msrp, it's pretty much icing on the cake then, i suppose.

invoice prices

the holdbacks were from $897-1009.....no one in this world pays that much to detail a car...besides them leaving swirl marks on top of it anyways LOL... they are making profit on these cars....believe me ...this just helps you decide where your going to fall...in how much profit you give them...no one said your going to pay invoice and no profit....besides anyways your going to use their service centers ...which they bang you over the head for anyways !!!! so the holdbacks are very much negotiable!!!!! very much !!

good luck with the info...im waiting until i can use these to my advantage word is and i quote from the dealer who gave me a test drive on the G37 journey ....everyone is paying sticker !!! LOL i sure as hell aint HAHAHAHHADOMODOMODOMODOMODOMODOMO

oh and the commission

The dealerships usually have a set amount on what they are making on the sale of the car...this being told to me by a salesmen himself....so whatever they sell it for , they are making a set amount no matter what and like someone said before what ever more it sells for is icing on the cake....well i dont like icing HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHa

almost forgot

the dealers are getting the holdbacks from the manufacturer ...so why should we pay them twice for something, they are already getting ....so even more reason to knock that off the price..( and more reason for the consumer to get offended)..and please dont rush to get it ...believe me there is going to be pleanty made ....let them work out the bugs...and you will be happier in the end.
