Martinez1041 Build Thread

Hello to all. As the title states I’m new here. Just picked up a 2013. I had a 2012 maxima that I loved. Unfortunately as we all the cvt is the Achilles heel of the maxima and that’s what happened. I wasn’t able to take the akebono calipers or the ray wheels off the maxima. Was given a decent amount to leave them on to the guy who bought it.

That Maxima was a fine looking car. Particularly with those wheels & brakes.

Loved the looks of the 7th Gen most of all, and the performance of the 5.5 Gen and 6.0 Gen 6MT.

Thank you good sir. Definitely did love the look of my maxima. Just couldn’t do anything performance wise because of the cvt. But as with all my cars,I have plans for the G. One of the first things I want to do is the akebono calipers. The difference in braking from the maxima to the G. Having had the akebonos, I can feel a huge difference in the G without the big brakes and I don’t like it

I’ll throw these skanks on this weekend. New rear rotors and pads. Rotors get delivered tomorrow. I’ve been buying R1 rotors and pads for years. Never had a problem

I've never gotten their pads, but I got R1 Concepts rotors close to 2 years ago at this point and had no issues. Previous to that, I had gotten Detroit Axle drilled and slotted rotors.... They warped so bad within 3 weeks I couldn't even drive the car. Little did I realize when I put them on, that the inner wall of the rotors were about half the thickness they should have been...... NEVER get anything from Detroit Axle. So not worth it.

Welcome! My friend has a 6th gen with a 6spd swap, pretty neat car! Wish Nissan made them this way from the factory.

Enjoy the G, lots of good information on here if you just search.

They did. But it was in Europe, and it was an underpowered 4 cylinder diesel.

Only one got delivered today. No biggie tho. Still have to order more parts and still get them powered coated. These probably won’t be put on until the spring
