Something I did to consider with 6MT is I removed that slider over the cupholder (it creeks and makes noises and stuff). And moved the entire cup holder assembly up to sit back flush (it naturally sits lower to account for slider). Without the slider it freed up space behind the cup holder and I cut out a slot to store my phone (you’ll realize there isn’t a great spot for your phone in 6MT), doesn’t fit well in cup holders. I also mounted a charge pad in that slot too so it just charges when I drop it in. It’s not a huge thing but I know your a fan of the little things.

That sounds like a super cool idea! I currently have a Proclip mount that I use, but this might be better. Plus it's rather useless as a cup holder as well. By chance do you have any photos?

More pictures/info for this. I have auto X sedan, but would still be interested in trying something more clean

They are indeed, and I know of only one other so far- but none in a G35. Funny you should mention that... eventual plan is when I end up doing gallery gaskets I'll purchase a spare VQ37VHR or perhaps just the blocks to make a VQ37HR hybrid. Also have been considering a VR30 swap; but I am in the process of boosting my Nismo 370 so I'm not sure I want 2x the headaches.

But the VQ37HR hybrid sounds like a pretty intriguing option, and VHRs are plentiful (especially compared to HRs)

Correct. Just like a more mechanically intensive VHR-HR manifold swap.

My car is at the body shop so I can’t snipe until I get it back. There is pic of it somewhere in my thread tho.

To be clear, I still have the cup holders, I got rid of the slider (and got rid of the rails it sits in which brought the moved the cup holder up higher) closer and the spot where the slider covers when it’s all the back is where I cut out a spot for the phone since the slider isn’t blocking it anymore.

I don’t hunk what I did really works in the auto. Totally different design. Also, see below.

Getting the seat reupholstery project complete has reinvigorated me to work on the G35. Settled on 3m Brushed Black vinyl to replace the "washi" trim. Just gorgeous:

Also just received my Berk HFCs that I ordered back in April and also snagged a set of Powerstop refurbished calibers off of Amazon during one of those flash sales (a set of Akebono for < $400? Count me in). Also made a BIG purchase to help freshen the exterior, more on that soon!

Completed the 3M Brushed Black Aluminum project. Took the better part of the day; but most of that was spent doing the upper and middle trim from the center console. So many intricate spots to cut and ensure that no bubbles/overlap were present. For the time being, I'm using the 370Z stock **** from my Nismo. Even with using a strap wrench, my G35 **** exploded as I turned it- but that's a good excuse to move up my new **** purchase. Eyeing one in particular from Raceseng, and conveniently they have a sale going on

Might as well add in a new shift boot there as well, as this cheap vinyl has to go! Eventually, I'd like to do the side vents and center shroud in CF to match the window trim- but that will have to wait as boosting my Nismo will start eating into my play funds. Anyways, here's the pics!

Very happy with how the interior refurnishing is turning out. I'll need to bring over my custom steering wheel and GTR start button from my other G; but priority one will be to replace this cracked and flaking dash. Definitely will be yet another major project; but thankfully I have a spare dash I can wrap in suede outside of the car and work to get perfect.

Looking fly Deep! I think wrapping or painting the trim is one of the easiest things you can do class up the interior. I thought about wrapping but couldn’t get a clean wrap on the Tesla screen so I opted to paint. I like the wrap you went with tho. Good stuff. You gonna put your Tesla screen back in?

Thank you for the motivation, I had painted my center trim in semi gloss black however left the dash/door trims oem. Since they're peeling I'll match them to the center.
Amazing look.

make sure you sand that film off before you paint. But I’d bet money my easy off trick would strip it right off. That shot peels easily so if you paint over it it’ll just peel off with the paint.

Thank you! I’m actually going to stay with the OEM screen for this build; since I have an 07 I have RCA plugs which will allow me to run a Rasberry Pi (like @iCrap ) or a piggy mount Android like Nifty City has been selling. Plus with having the Tesla screen for 2 years, in a weird way it feels “new” to me to go back to stock 😂

Appreciate it sir! I know that feeling, motivation goes up and down- but seeing the seats with the new trim makes the effort worth it!
