Crazy odd details, glad you found great donor pieces. I've replaced my two front window trims, for the rears it's just been difficult to find in good condition. The main yard I go to started realizing the potential of 37s and now they barely get them, the quality of the V chassis cars they're getting is going down significantly. Great score!
Odd details indeed! Another one I've noticed is that the horn on the G35 sounds "puny" compared to the G37....
But totally agree I lucked out on the donor pieces, heck just finding any V36s in Columbus junkyards has been super rare- which is why I typically turn to Facebook/eBay. Of course that gets expensive quick...

I always stick with Ford horns. Sucks to have Ford part but living in S.FL you need that loudness
Started working on disassembling my Anniversary edition seats. Overall not too hard, but definitely recommend wearing gloves when trying to pop out the headrest clips (busted my knuckle on a metal wire inside the seat back). I just followed the factory service manual and a video on YT of a guy doing this on a Nissan Rogue.
Next up is to take a part the black leather seats from the G35 and do the swap. And here's another random difference between the G37/G35- painted controls:
ugh i remember this struggle. While you're in there, you can refoam the bolsters if they have any wear. Just get some high-density cushion foam and lay some spray adhesive and layer it overtop.
Gloves are a must, i cut my hand up pretty badly working on the seats.

Hilariously enough, the 07 bolsters from the G35 are in much better condition that the '11s. But yeah, working gloves are absolutely mandatory for this job.
The seat saga continues. I stripped the Black seats from my G35:
Comparison of the setbacks from 07 (left) and '13 (right)
Feeling confident- I went ahead and put the black cushions on the '13 bolsters. After getting the hog rings back on, I ran into yet ANOTHER snafu. Notice the white connector dangling in the middle right of the picture below? It's attached the heating pad that's within the seat. And unfortunately that also changed between the years (3 prong in the older models, 4 prong in the new ones), and like a dummy I forgot to check
After weighing my options, I feel like the easiest path forward is to just swap the heater harness (pictured below) rather than trying to mess with pulling the whole pad out of the leather (its stitched in). My initial though is to snip the copper wires that tie to the pads, swap them (which means pulling apart the black seat bottom I just put together DOH)- and then solder/heat shrink to ensure connectivity. Boy this is turning into quite the project.

oooh yeah I forgot about that. i ran into a similar issue. But this is weird, my 07 seat looks different from yours. It has extra green foam on the driver side - and the heater was already on the pad. (I actually had 2 driver seats, because I had bought 4 seats from the same guy, and they both had the green foam on the driver seat)
I ended up cutting the one out of the leather seat cover and just using the one already on the seat cushion.
Well, it's been sometime since the last update. June got obliterated by a crazy work project (consultant life)- so there really wasn't any time to continue working on the G(s). But with that project in the rear view, I was finally able to complete the seat swap. I ended up using @iCrap 's idea and just cut out the heating pad for the upper and lower portions of the seat. Of course this meant I needed to undo the black leather portion I had already done, DOH. Once I had access to the bare pads, I simply cut out the heating pads and swapped them with the heaters from the Monaco Red seats.
You can see the pads here on the seat bottom... these are actually cut from my original black G35 seats
With the passenger (2x) seats complete, it was time to tackle the driver's side. This was much easier as the heating pads were actually on the seat and not the leather- so no additional cutting required. It also helped that I had done this a few times and had an idea of how everything should fit together. I'll upload a proper YouTube video at some point, but here's a few progress picks from stripping the Black G35 Driver side:
And of course, the finished product. What a grind- definitely thankful to have this one in the rear view. At least I can say (somewhat confidently- we still need to test them in the car) that I have the only pair of 100% functional G35 seats with Monaco Red leather. A few guys on the Facebook groups were saying that the wiring only needs to be swapped on the passenger side; but my experience with the heating pad issues leads to believe that they don't have that functionality. Also the G35s come with electronic lumbar support, and I'm able to retain that (although I had to add the handle to cover up the hole on the Monaco Red seats).

Of course the party doesn't stop there. We've been having crazy rains the last week in Ohio- and the dreaded sunroof leak hit me. I checked on the G35 last weekend after finishing up the leather swap to see this:
After toweling out all of the water, I pulled out the sunroof drain grommet- and it was caked with dirt. Cleaned it out and also cleaned out debris in the windshield cowl- it's been raining a few days after this original photo and I'm happy to report no rain in the G35!
I spent this weekend working on the G37 and getting the interior back to stock. Which meant I had to strip the G35 down (pictured below), and re-drill holes to accept the larger Q60 Sun Visor clips.
Got everything put back together using the interior bits from the G35. Another random Easter egg of differences between the years:
G37 on left, G35 on right
Making progress! Right now my focus is to get the G37 fully back to stock so I can sell it to Carvana/CarMax/etc. Once I recoup those funds; when we can begin to explore exterior ideas for the G35. The front absolutely will get the '10+ facelift treatment; but I've been contemplating some potential some carbon upgrades- namely to the fender and hood. These parts are trashed on the G35 (hood has dents/water spots; fender has rust areas) so they need replacing anyways. I don't love carbon everywhere- but on a black G they could make a lot of sense (especially with partial paint).
And then with the rear, I'll definitely bring over my Auto X CF diffuser and "Kenstyle" Spats- just not sure what to do with the trunk. I have the Sport 35 high spoiler... in some respects I like it as it's a signature G35 thing.... but then I don't like it for that same reason. Unfortunately the mounting holes are completely different that the '10+ Spoiler- so I'd be looking at a different trunk all together if I upgrade. Decisions, decisions....
The headliner from the 37 fits the 35? You porting over that sweet sweet black dome light too?
Yeah there's no difference on the headliners between the 07-14 V36 Sedans. My Suede wrapped headliner is actually from a wrecked 09 G37. And of course, all the black OEM plastics will be coming over - the interior will look just the same as my G37, just this time with a 6MT

Interesting.. so there isn’t much difference between a g35 and g37 sedan? The coupe is way different.
Im still trying to find a damn black passenger clamshell visor that will fit my car. The q60 is clamshell on driver (I wrapped it perfect) but foam block on passenger 🤦♂️.

All the body / metal is the same starting from 2007, they only changed stuff like the bumper and some interior bits over the years (and the engine obviously)
Finally completed the Monaco leather swap project. Definitely super time consuming, but the results are so well worth it. All of my black suede interior is ported over as well.
The red looks right at home with that 6MT
I've also retained 100% of the OEM G35 functionality as well. Progress will be a little slow on the G35 as I continue to bring my g37 back to stock, but the next main project is migrate my FI exhaust, and then do the 2010 front end conversion.
