Now at this point it’s April 2025. I’ve decided I wanted to grow up, be responsible, and save some money. So, a friend of mine had one of these sitting is his yard. Sold it to me for $500 and I drove the wheels off this thing. Roll up windows, manual locks, no cruise control. Base model to the max. Drove this everyday until I decided to make a poor decision again in July.
The poor decision in question : a Z32.
while moving my sister into her new apartment, I find this on marketplace. Same owner for the last 26 years, and for 25 of those years it was his ONLY car. He daily drove this car from 2000 to May 2025. Every day. Every season. He picked up Christmas trees in this car.
I finish helping my sister and make my way out to the suburbs to see the Z. I knock on the door and an old retired man greets me and shows me the car. We share stories, laughs, and admiration for the Z32 chassis. I make an offer, and he accepts.
I couldn’t believe I finally owned one. It is a high mileaged NA 5 speed 2+0 with a lot of rust. But it’s mine 😎 I did the 120k service, EGR delete, updated fuel injectors, 1pc driveshaft, clutch, coolant bypass etc literally everything.
only thing that sucked was that it all took 3 months… I just got the car back and it’s phenomenal. But when it breaks again, I don’t want to be without a car for a season. So I went on the hunt for a fun reliable daily.
naturally I was looking at F30 BMWs, Lexus 2IS, etc. but nothing compares to the value of a G37. I searched for a couple months with nothing that really caught my eye, until last weekend.
Flashback
September 2025
Onmarketplace I find the holy grail. A Malbec Black 6MT sedan. Black interior. Midnight grille, Rear spoiler, and NAV. It’s perfect. Totally stock never been modified. I’m talking to the guy and he’s responsive until I tell him I’ll fly in for the car. It’s located in Florida but I didn’t care. I wanted it.
I posted a humorous ad to sell my Ford Focus, and someone gave me my asking price for it.. on purpose.
So I sell my focus, and im ready to go out and buy this Malbec sedan! I message the guy who is expecting me.. and then he marks the listing sold.
so now I’ve sold a perfectly good car (still no regrets, I took it and ran) and am banking on my 35 year old Nissan Z to be reliable… yeah. No. Of course the Z breaks again so I’m in between rentals and borrowing my parents extra cars. Around the holidays I had enough of that and decided I need a car. Not just any car, but a 6MT sedan.
After New years I’m searching the country for a manual sedan. Some are nice, but too expensive. Some are clapped, and I refuse to be a ricer again.
I set my location to Miami, FL to see what I’ll find.
then, there it is… the same Malbec black 6MT sedan I tried to buy 4 months ago. Back up for sale! I message them immediately. We pick a date, I buy my ticket and flew down there last weekend.
as he’s signing over the title I tell him I’ve been after this car for awhile. He laughs and says yeah these manual sedans are hard to come by. But I said no, this one specifically 😂 We shared some stories and love for the VQ platform. He then wished me well on my 16 hour drive back home.
and just like that. Im back in a 6MT sedan, driving cross country having a blast just like I was 4 years ago.
my plans for this one are simple. OEM+ and nothing more.
V1 Nismos, OEM Lip, Monaco Red interior are the only cosmetics on my list aside from a good polish and paint correction. I’m excited for my “adult” build.
Most of the mods are going to be suspension and power based. The goal is to have a car I can drive to the office comfortably, take to the local track, and road trip around the country. My previous cars proved themselves. I know this one will knock it out of the park!
I still love a well written story. Congrats and welcome back. Man, you've got some seriously bad luck with cars. But good luck, too, LOL.
Again... RJM pedal assembly, a STS, and any brand aftermarket sways. Inexpensive and transformative. The entire rest of the car can stay stock, under the radar and reliable.

Yeah I’m hoping nothing catastrophic happens lol. I’m finally about 2 years removed from any accidents and tickets, so I’m hoping my insurance relieves me this summer.
what brand STS do you recommend? I’m on the hunt for everything else you listed above.
