Thanks for the reassurance on the O2s. I really want them on. Helps with a bit of sound having that and tanabe right? My exhaust is close to perfect sound but not quite there.

As for painting calipers, I have the akebono brakes? Mine are stock . . . I always see them going for a ton of money here. Are those non sport owners? Anyway, me and a local guy from a FB group were discussing wheels/breaks and I was really thinking about it. Would like to paint them a dark blue though. I bought a couple hundred bucks in tools so I can hopefully be brave enough to do a few things now!

And I've now learned first hand the fun of keeping these wheels clean.

Wash my car and dry the wheels by hand. Drive for 10-20 miles and the water from the brakes throws more dust al over them. As soon as I stop somewhere else I get to hand dry the wheels again. After that they stay pretty clean. Just got back from a 200+ mile trip to HiN and they look good still. Getting them coated by a local shop a week from Monday.

Are you suggesting he go full Oreo?

I agree that his wheel choice and color showcase those brakes like crazy... But gloss black? Really? I was thinking bronze, yellow, gold, etc. and certainly something in metallic.

Lol at the full Oreo. He's got a world of options, think the simple black w/ white would look real good, but one more color into the mix isn't over the top. He mentioned dark blue, hard to argue that that would look good

And yes OP you DO have the good big Akebonos, so dress them up!

I'm already getting the roof wrapped gloss black so is that half Oreo? Lol. My lug nuts are blue already so thought calipers could match. Thanks for clearing up my brake situation!
I'll check the thread posted

Z1 transmission mount installed today. The sound improvement blows me away. I feel it's not audible outside the car but honestly don't care. The whole drivetrain feels amazing and though it does vibrate quite a bit more I wouldn't trade it for anything. Could not be happier. obligatory pics.

Had mine installed yesterday. And I couldn't agree more with that assessment. I've loving this mod, too.

Roch - close your eyes!!!

Haha. So got my shift extender and new **** today. $90 or so total for both. I want a more weighted **** and I am horribly saddened my original plan for the shift gate is gonna need modifying because the wide part going into the shift linkage begins above the level that the plate would go.

BUT I got the extender on and new ****. I completely figured it was gonna be a test of curiosity and be garbage but truthfully I like it. The height could be a LITTLE Shorter but it completely changes the fulcrum and makes shift seem easier, even with the light ****. Also a bit more fun. I am going on a spirited drive into some Hills with a group this weekend and will really test it out. The taper on the extension is barely noticeable and I already have plans to close the gap visible and make it all smooth / 1 color. I really think I'll keep this mod for a bit and see how it goes.

Fwiw - SCREW The stock ****. Wow.

You're not kidding.

I mean, your car and all, so continue having fun with it. I'm not even going to rank on that, because you're entirely self-aware about this odd little project, putting on clown shoes with your eyes wide open.

No wait, I think I just ranked on you. LOL

Hey, why does it look like your OEM shift boot was cut out with a butter knife? You do know that section unclips from the center console with almost no effort at all... right?

If by effortlessly you mean very difficult resulting in near death experiences of trying to pop the clips off and almost jamming the screwdriver into my thumb I got it. Haha

Seriously though, I ruined the boot when the towel slipped down and I didn't notice when reefing on the **** so figured screw it. If I end up getting a new boot I'll try a bit harder to remove it and install s new one properly.

Screwdriver? OMG, no. What the heck, man?

With your fingers wrapped over the boot trim in the front and into the boot vinyl (by the shift pattern screenprint), pull upwards and the unit unclips from the center console. After that, pull it up and towards you, and you'll see how the back section (under the radio) simply drops down. Reach in back and unclip the harness to the lighter, and you're done, easy-peasy.

You really should have asked around how to do this. Here's a picture of my shift boot assembly out of the car.

I looked at the DIY here on how to and it said pop the clips with a screwdriver. I removed the dash portion easy but could not get the boot off the silver metal piece at all. Oh well the boot was ruined before I tried anyway. And regardless of what I end up doing, I would be changing that boot out for something different anyway. I've never liked them on any car.

Looking closer I did exactly what you show there. But getting the boot off that piece I couldn't do
