All exterior chrome, with the exception of headlight housing (for now), will be aged bronze.
This will be a trial and error endeavor. But, the ground work has been laid out by Fonzie at DipYourCar in Miami.
Chrome trim (rear deck spoiler, window trim, emblems, etc.) will be cleaned and dried thoroughly. Painter's tape around for easy clean up. Two coats of matte black base, one coat of copper metalizer, one light matte black spray, two more coats of copper, and two coats of matte clear finish. Same process for the 2010 non sport 18" wheels.

This will hold me over until I can put new shoes on her.

I'll do a full thread to detail and link here.

Wheels

Aged Bronze finish will hopefully be achieved through the above mentioned process on the stock 18s.

When the budget affords, I'm looking to get into a set of all squared Vossens. I far prefer the VOSSEN VVSCVT in Gloss Silver (maybe bronze will be an option by purchase time?). But, as I'm going bronze all around, I am leaning towards the VOSSEN VFS2 in Satin Bronze.

Pictures are property of Vossen and used only for reference.

Lowering Notes future reference

Here is what I have gathered from various sources on the forum. Being a vert, it seems getting ride height, wheel gap, camber and toe right are all a little tricky.

From Cereal and others:

BC Racing Part Number: V-12 Applications: 09-13 G37 Convertible V36Â* for the front

18-20k BC GTR Coilover rear spring - damping adjusted to 4 clicks from stiffest for the rear

SPC Front camber kit (g37 coupe)

4 bolt SPC Rear camber/toe bolt kit

Please correct me if I missed anything or got the set up wrong. BC seems to be the set up I'll be looking into for the ideal drop.

A lot of action on this build in such a short time, interesting plan w/ the bronze trim, looking forward to seeing that.
I'd also look at the KSport coilovers while you're shopping around.

I'm also wondering if carbon fiber is getting WAY to played out? I think it looks really, really good and that's what matters. But, maybe I should explore some other trim options? Anyone done anything other than carbon? Marble? Ebony? Black Alligator Leather (would match a third of my timepieces, probably tacky though)?
5 samples arrived today. The obvious solution to cover the "wood" trim is 3M 1080 carbon fiber vinyl. But, that has been brutally overdone. While it looks great, I don't want the same appearance as every '98 Civic still limping along.
So, covering the glossy wood look with something more modern and matte, but still wood look, seems the appropriate route. The 3M DINOC Ebony Metallic Wood fits the bill brilliantly. Ordering a few feet this weekend.

Measured the interior "wood" trim for vinyl. To be honest, it's hard to call this product vinyl as it has wood grain feel and look. But, I suppose it is.

Nevertheless, I came to the total measurement of 55"x12". This includes all wood trim, 3 thin pieces stacked (~3" each; combined max-width 9.33"; additional overhang and trim allowed still well within 12"). AND the Center stack 9"x10" horizontal (around gear shift) + 9"x10" vertical (radio/climate/clock etc).
The sheets are sold by the foot and unfortunately the nearest size available is 1'x4'; just shy of the necessary length. So, I'll have PLENTY left over having ordered 2 sets of 1'x4'.

Side note: the 3D Black Alligator Texture Skin Vinyl looks really good (no $#i+, it looks really good). I'd love to incorporate it in a few accent locations like the center arm rest and small section of the door inserts. But, it may not be easy to work around stitching in the upholstery and I'm not trying to do a full blown upholstery job. So, we'll see.

Well it's cheap enough that another foot isn't a deal breaker, interesting that they don't sell it in the customary 60" widths (but then again that is standard for exterior wraps, may be different for pieces used for trim/accents).
Looking forward to how this looks.

This was just for fun and an opportunity to polish my vinyl and surgical skills. I'm not intending to keep the green on the emblem. But, it looks pretty good.

Interior chrome trim has to go when doing the ebony and gator bits. Chrome is an eyesore.

I've ordered everything necessary to get the exterior chrome converted to bronze. The plan was to have continuity and carry the bronze into the interior. But, I wasn't keen on having my interior bits sprayed. So, the alternative is vinyl wrapping all interior chrome.

With this in mind, I'm considering deviating slightly from the bronze. I really like the matte ebony metallic wood with subtle touches of black alligator and considering pairing them with rose gold. There are three samples being shipped to decide if I like the look and which finish is preferred (frozen matte, frozen satin, or gloss). Three of my favorite timepieces are rose gold bezels. Two have black gator straps. They look stunning. Not sure how it might look on the interior of the G? Worth a shot.

Working on prep for the engine bay. VHT Bronze spray paint ordered.

Picked up some brass washers to replace all visible washers in the bay. Sprayed with clear gloss automotive dip to protect them from the elements.

Planning out the tail light modification. Going to follow Brad's method to the letter. I'll have to cut custom vinyl circles for the vert to achieve the GTR look. I'll also be doing the reverse lights as circles and leaving the led side strips exposed to keep closer to DOT legal.

Here are two mockups. One showing a quarter angle to see the side led strip (before determining circles for rev). The other is oem left and GTR right for comparison (w/ reverse as circle).

Haters be damned. Dipped the wheels and they look phenomenal. Got to clean her up after all the work. But, a few decent shots of her in her dirty glory to come.

She really needs a bath. But with the logos (front & rear), window trim and wheels done it seemed fitting to take a few shots.

Chrome deleted. Bronze completed.

Nice job Ryan!
I posted a bit in the wheel thread but I'll go a bit further~
IMO the bronze looks good w/ black, a nice contrast but not out of place.
Only change I'd consider would be black lug nuts and something w/ the wheel center caps, would look good if you could bronze the centers but make the Infiniti logo black. Would take some regular gloss black paint on the whole center cap, then some detailing tape over the dried black logo, then use your bronze dip on the rest of the center cap. Would be a bit extra labor but would be a nice finishing touch there.
