I wish my town had a dyno!!

 

Don't worry, it's basically the only thing my town is good for lol.

 

Alright so I finally got my UpRev tune. I went with Vinny Ten Racing in LI. They're great guys over there. His credit card machine was broken so he gave me a discount for driving to the ATM down the block, which was nice.

The tuner knows his ****. They use a Dyno Dynamics AWD dyno, which I believe to be one of the most accurate dynos.

List of engine mods:
-Takeda Long Tube CAI
-Stillen HFC's
-Motordyne Cat Back

My baseline was 261 WHP

My AFR was all over the place at WOT, so the tuner smoothed that line out and kept it around 13 throughout the rev range.

I had him increase the throttle response too. I wanted a 15% increase but he said that some manual cars throw a CEL if you overdo the throttle response. He does 15% for 7AT cars but for mine he bumped it up 5%. This is probably my favorite part of the tune. Rev matching and downshifting are so much easier. As soon as you touch the throttle, the car goes. It's awesome. I'd highly recommend that to anybody getting a tune.

After making all is adjustments, we did a second run at 277 WHP. I forget the torque figures because he hasn't emailed me the sheet yet.

Overall gains were 16 HP.

you predicted the 16whp.. nice although with those mods id have suspected you would have been knockin on 300whp..

Nice job on the build! Is that a Porsche 930? I'm planning on adding a 930 or 964 to the fleet.

And I'm not too happy with the dyno numbers. It was raining outside and it was 82 degrees so the weather wasn't ideal for a good dyno run. He said I probably lost 10 HP to the ****ty weather so I'm probably hovering around 290. I really wanted 300 but **** happens.

Yes, it's a 930! They're unbelievable cars. It's my father's car. It's built up and has 480 WHP and only weighs 2400 lbs. It's an absolute monster and I'd recommend one to anybody. They're stupid expensive right now so they're hard to get, 930's and 965's are skyrocketing in value right now. My dad paid 1/3 of what the car is worth and he's only had it for 3 years.

 

Installed a TWM Short Shifter and I love it. Throws are so much shorter and everything feels much more tight. Vibration also greatly reduced in the ****, although I find heat transfers more quickly.

And the grand prize of this week... I got my RJM Clutch Pedal assembly installed. Absolutely love it. MUST HAVE for anybody with a 6mt. No more lurching 1-2 shifts, everything is smooth and it finally feels like I have a clutch, no more playing "guess the engagement point" game

Don't understand why it didn't come from the factory like this.

Figured I'd update this in case anybody cares lol

-Yesterday, I brought the car to the shop to have a South Bend Stage 2 Daily clutch and 14 lb aluminum flywheel installed.

Ordered from Concept Z Performance (awesome guys over there) and went with the quiet disc option to hopefully reduce the chatter from the single mass flywheel. Interested to see how well it works.

Also having the ZSpeed Slave installed because I don't want the OEM one I just put in to **** the bed again.

-I put in some Osram 6000k HIDs in to match my LED parking lights which have a pure white/blueish hue to them.

-And my favorite part, ordered some Tanabe Sustec Pro Coilovers from a member on here because I need to raise my car because of the ridiculous yellow speed bumps they decided to put in in my complex. I scrape my exhaust leaving every morning and I'm tired of this ****, so I'm gonna max out the height on the coilovers then slam it down when I need to. (Look out for my Koni's and Eibachs in the classifieds sections soon lol.)

Interior:

I did a Carbon Fiber interior wrap for another forum member a few weeks ago and it came out so nice that it really convinced me. I ripped off all the black wrap this weekend and rewrapped in 3M 1080 CF. I think it came out pretty good. It matches my steering wheel cover nicely too. I still have to do the steering wheel trim so ignore that part.









I also purchased some Carsmo ***** so I threw those on too. I think it livened up the interior a bit.
