CCM03's GraphiteShadow Build thread

Heys guys, alright well I'm put more money into mods than I have in car payments so far so I figured I better make a build thread to keep track of everything...

Here is my "Newbie Corner" posts with background on me, and the first few things done to car. Just hit 1,000 miles on the way to work today

https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...n-the-way.html

Anyway, just installed the OEM spoiler yesterday. I was pretty nervous drilling holes into my new trunk but i love the way it turned out.

And AFTER!!

Thanks for looking, expect a lot more.

Nothing crazy but hardwired my radar to the mirror on my lunch break...

Easy to do, and no more hanging cord.

Looks like you've been busy, spoiler looks great, IMO a slate blue would flow better regarding the wheels, but it's dramatic

Haha yes very busy! Coilovers/camber kit/ and Gen 3 intake are next, then gotta wait until I sell some more cars before more parts

The blue is definitely dramatic, and a very "loud" color, but i'm helping to keep Austin wierd.

Here is the other side of the car which is much more conservative.

I'm not a fan of the blue, too loud for my taste. It might work better of you add some blue somewhere else too.

Maybe you can pull it off with some accents, such as a painted headlight shroud ? Maybe? But i think that blue and gray will be tough to get them too work together without some help.

Yeah completely agree, there is no blue anywhere else on the car (besides interior lights) ... honestly i saw this picture and liked it, thought I would just try it out with "similar color" plastidip.

So far more people like the passanger side better with the black rims. Obviously it flows better with the black emblems and black grill, etc..

Again this is all temporary until I get some bada$$ rims.

Man my first thought when I saw those bluuue rims was "oh god".....but I'm scrolling back up to look at it and I gotta say it's growing on me. I think I could get behind it if you did some color match blue accents around the car. Nothing major just a few little details to draw it all in together. Gotta say I admire your ***** tho. Takes guts to "keep Austin weird."

I've got a question/opinion for you guys. I'm actually a pretty big fan of those rims in general. My car has the same ones and everytime I think about dropping $2-3K on new wheels I always hesitate and think to myself "I really don't hate my current rims they are pretty pimpin."

Full disclosure tho I'm seriously considering some CVT's, blnewt helped turn me on to some niche directional rims that are badass, and I'm HEAVILY considering taking those SSR's off of GNepal mmm them SOB's are badA$$

Sorry so my question is do you guys dig those stock rims from the 2012+ G's? Like enough to consider rocking them for a year or two? I was thinking once my stock tires wear out I'll upgrade the whole dang thing and until then spend bank on performance mods.

Ha honestly when i finished plastidip'ing them i was like "mehhh...i can just peel it off anyway." I didn't LOVE them by any means, but they have kinda been growing on me, i get a bunch of thumbs up and people are always coming up to me, complimenting and asking what color it is.. so we'll see...but yes it is a weird combo for sure.

As far as the stock rims, they are not terrible. Hard to clean with all the spokes but I am just waiting to lower the car and eat some of the stock tires before I drop $3,000+ on new rims and tires. I just cant decide if i want a deep concave or rims with a lip/step lip.

I'm in love with the directional rims and i seriously dig those two piece wheels that have the row of bolts (or whatever they are called idk) just inside the lip...straight up sexy.

Hey I was also admiring your spoiler bro. Mind if I ask us how much that costs and if it was difficult to install? Other than drilling holes in the trunk with would def make me cringe also. Nice work tho

Yeah your talking about rims with the rivets, i like those too.

And the spoiler was pretty expensive...$460 but it did come painted and ready to install. I was going to have my dealership install it but i wanted to do it myself so they let me in the shop and gave me all the tools lol they just kept checking on me every so often....but it wasn't too hard. I was just nervous about drilling the holes and messing up! Total time about 2 hours.
