I want to go to the track soon to test the new tires.

Never heard of pulleys causing loss of power, but do I need a tune with new pulleys?

I guess it could have been caused by the different atmospheric conditions. Not freaking out over losing 3hp, but really confused about the dyno result.

So yesterday I saw a post on facebook of a local guy that paints headlights, so I immediately called and after talking for a while, I decided to bring my car over today and get them painted black.

Was surprised at how fast he removed the headlight.

That's awesome... right time, right place. Looking forward to the pics.

Personally, I'm continually surprised at how fast you move when you want to mod the car. So much win & whiplash in this thread.

All done. Under 3 hours and a price that can be considered almost too good to be true. Very happy with the result.

Awesome thread!

So I read the whole thread and its one of the most informative threads as for bolt-on gains.

I'm building my q40 (g37 sedan) and my final result is similar to what you have done to your car.
I wish I dynoed the car stock to have base line before the mods I did, but oh well. So far I have test pipes and a true dual cbe, no tune. Will be doing a dyno run this month before and after I do a tune. During dyno I will do a run with the oem filters and another run with out the filters to see if it gives difference with the tp and cbe. Depending on the results I get I will make up my mind if its worth getting a takeda cai.

Numbers I am hoping for are 260-270 whp and 230-240 wtq. ( i know I am kinda expecting a lot from just cbe a tp with no tune, but i put some good numbers in 1/8 mile race and only had one run, therefor hoping to see some good numbers. (8.56 @84 mph)

Will update you guys soon

You should start your own build thread. It's always fun to read and see pictures of other G37, especially on similar mods.

Thanks Pong. I was also surprised at how good they look. I could stare at them for hours.

Updating but not really an update:

Thinking about buying a 6MT differential pumpkin (3.69 gears) and swapping it to test it out. Then, after a while, I will decide if I go 3.9 or 4.08 with whiteline bushings depending on how I like the ride, testing it out at the track, etc.

Headlights look good. But you have a new problem. U r going to start fogging them up real soon because paint has not had time to cure. Happens all the time.

Thanks. How soon will they start to fog? The guy who did them said the warranty covers fogging.

Not sure how he is going to cover the fogging because the paint is not cured and will fog on the inside. U live in Puerto Rico so it should be s month or two. Looks like crap and the only way to fix it is with new headlights..!

I'm a bit confused. How can this be prevented? Letting the paint dry for days and then closing the headlight? He has done a lot of headlights and worked at a headlight shop, and he never had any issues. :|
