Parking brake indicator light is always on

My red “brake” indicator light came on while diving and won’t turn off. I’ve checked the brake fluid level and I even replaced the sensor under the fill tank. (PIA to get that bugger out). Still on.

I have a MT so it has a hand parking brake. When I lightly pull up on the brake while driving, the information center fires warnings so I don’t think it’s a faulty switch.

any ideas what’s next? TIA!

What year Versa and how many miles on it? Any possibility the parking brake shoes are worn out and the sensor is accurate?

it’s a ‘12 g37s manual convertible. I’m not sure that I understand how the shoe being worn would cause the indicator light to come on when the parking brake is disengaged.
