Parking Brake Light Coming On While Driving
Hey guys! I have a 2009 G37xS and for the last couple days it has been doing something really weird. If off the line I go at WOT the parking brake light will come on for a few seconds and then as soon as I ease off it usually goes off. If I continue to go at WOT sometimes then I get the traction control light some of the other dash lights come on. These lights wont turn off until I restart the car.
I have already tried to push down and then release the parking brake hoping it was just slight engaged by accident while I was getting in or out of the car, but this has not helped at all.
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Hoping it is not an expensive fix.

Ah sorry man, when I release mine the light and chime still goes off, I either have to kick the back of the pedal, or reach down and grab it and move it around. I used to use the E-brake all the time I use it only once in a while.

If this happens only when you do “WOT” – when you floor the pedal, then it is the brake fluid.
Check your brake fluid level. The reservoir is at the right back, close to the windshield in an enclosure. Top it up with appropriate brake fluid (DOT 3).
With fast acceleration, I think the fluid slosh back in the reservoir, forcing the fluid level sensors to sense low levels.
It is also prudent to check the brake pads – just to make sure that the worn pads are not causing you to lose brake fluid.
It happened to me before and after topping it off with the fluid, it has been great.
