G37S caliper piston won’t release

I was changing the front brakes on our 2012 G37S, and one of the caliper pistons on the passenger side won’t slide back in. I did several attempts to get to release: e.g. pushing the brake pedal, opening the brake fluid reservoir, taking a little bit of fluid out, etc…

I was trying to avoid taking the caliper off due to loosing daylight, but I’m not sure I could compress it even with the caliper off.

If I bleed the caliper, will this possibly release the piston? There’s no abnormal wear on that wheels brakes, so I don’t think it was freezing prior to me changing the pads. I’m thinking I may have added to much pressure to the system when I compressed the other pistons on the drivers side.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

So what did you do? I had the same thing happen to me and I just ended up getting new calipers. The piston wouldn't go back in for sh-t. Just pinched the brake line and took off the caliper, which allowed me to drive a short distance home to park it until the new calipers came.

Did you take the caliper off and use a C-clamp to try and compress the piston back in? That has never failed for me. My old 300ZX N/A rear pistons needed to be rotated in order to compress in. I haven't had to change the brakes on my G yet, but it might be possible that they need to rotate. Autozone will lend you the tool to rotate the piston. Those are only needed on the rear calipers on all the Nissan/INFINITI's I have worked on in the past. Just be sure the fluid fill lid is off too.
