TPMS issues

Has anyone heard of deflating all 4 tires to 14psi before pairing tpms sensors to the ECU? I have a new set of Purple max TPMS sensors and have had 3 tire shops fail to pair with car. All the sensors activate and show pressure on TPMS tool, plug into obd and the shows correct activation in car. Seems like it's successful- Tire light goes out, only to come on after driving 10-12 miles. Customer service where I bought sensors, wheels and tires said to deflate to 14 and retry. Anybody done this? Thanks!

It's possible the aftermarket sensors not wanting to pair.
