Inside rotor face rusty, Akebono caliper pistons stuck?
Inside rotor face rusty, Akebono caliper pistons stuck?
Is it possible for caliper pistons to get stuck in the retracted position? My front rotors have a lot of rust on the braking surface, that does not clear up.
I performed a few hard stops last night and found that the front face of the rotor was hot (couldn’t leave finger there for very long), while the edge of the inside face was barely warm. The pads moved freely in the caliper, and when I last did a brake change, I cleaned al the brake dust on the corners where the pads sit.
I am starting to think my calipers are the issue.
