Help Rear Differential Bushing Install Gone Wrong
Rear Differential Bushing Install Gone Wrong
I started to install my Z1 Rear Urethane Differential Bushing and I ran into a brick wall. My bushing is crooked inside the subframe but it isn’t pulled into it all the way. I’ve been using a 3/8 inch 6inch bolt and pieces if steel on both side I drilled holes into. I’ve tried angle iron and other things but it bends the metal every time. I need to either get the bushing out of the subframe or somehow get it straightened out so that I can finish pulling it into the subframe. Please help!
Can you somehow get a screwdriver in the back side and tap it out with a hammer? Never done my bushing so not sure how much room there is to work with. Alternatively you could get a slide hammer and put a bolt through it, and bang it out. Just spitballing
Draw it out with the washer/bolt setup
and/or get yourself a bushing driver kit...
Use heat and cold to install
Freeze the bushing in your freezer, heat the bracket with a heat gun, use lube, and things will go much smoother.
