AKEBONO discoloration after brake bedding procedure!!!

After doing the brake bedding procedure to get rid of minor brake judder, and possible brake pad deposits on the rotor, my calipers turned a different color from all the Heat. The smell was pretty bad too. I did do several more than the recommended 10 stop and go passes, never experiencing brake fade, but I never expected this to happen. After 8 plus years of regularly going through threads on this forum I've never heard or seen it happen before. It's not the first time I've done the procedure, and a quick search didn't provide any answers. I'm not exactly happy about it..

That’s pretty weird. Unless it was repainted and the clear coat yellowed out from too much heat

That would be my first thought too... I bought the car new though. To add to this, the brakes got smoking hot.

Honestly it looks like the heat might've messed with the coating causing the discoloration. I've never seen this in person but have heard of it happening.

Did it work? Is the judder gone?

I was under the impression that there is no bedding procedure for Akebono pads, just 400-500 miles of light braking.

Most street brake pads don't need a bed in procedure, just light driving as Rochester said. As for the calipers, it's just heat discoloration. Mine got like that after the track.
