Severe wheel hop in ‘08 coupe 6mt
Severe wheel hop in ‘08 coupe 6mt
I have a ridiculous wheel hop issue when any amount of wheel slip is seen unless I do high rpm clutch dump.
Car has stance SS coilovers, SPL camber arms, and YES I have replaced the diff bushing with poly bushings. Now the problem is I have wheel hop with the stock wheels and tires as well as my 20x10.5 Vossens. And I live in Washington state, where as you know it rains....a lot. So if I am attempting any sort of halfway decent acceleration I will slip the rear wheels, and I get violent wheel hop. And I mean violent. I replaced the diff bushings hoping it would fix it, and it did help but did not remedy it completely.
The coilovers are on the softest damper (same issue with it on stiffest setting) setting, and I have the stock spec alignment and currently have stock wheels and tires. I’m wondering if upgrading the toe links to a Z1 Motorsports setup will fix it. Any input is appreciated.

Good luck with the trouble shoot, could be anything from bushings, alignment, coils etc..

Look into a diff brace. Royal Performance brace should still be offering a sale on theirs. A bunch of us took advantage of the Bell Raceworks diff brace group buy a month or so ago. More than one buyer has stated it quelled their wheel hop.
