Strut mounting bracket torque specs?

I found the torque specs on the bastard 19 mm bolt in the service tech manual. It is 120 Ft/Lb.

However, I could not find any torque specs on the 3 -14mm bolts anywhere shown in the picture.
In fact the picture in the service tech manual shows the opposite side of the transverse link and these bolts are not seen. Any idea?

Thanks everyone for your time!

I found something on the g35 site that showed 42ft pounds. That's what I torqued mine to.

I had the exact same question when I was installing my Tein Basis last year. The torque specs are 89 ft/lbs for those 3 bolts. See my thread here and check out posts 12 and 13:

Good luck!

Thanks slade for responding!

I reviewed your link and then went back and reviewed the service tech manual and did more research. The bolt that is 89 ft/lbs in the picture is actually the mounting bolt for the transverse link - it is not the strut/"shock absorber" mounting bracket bolts. If you trace the line down the diagram it shows the bolt attaching to the "front suspension member". I have traced this bolt in the red. Service tech manual does not show the mounting bracket bolts which based on the picture should be located where I marked with purple arrows. The green bolt I marked is the biatch..bolt....the diagram is confusing because of the angle they chose to draw it. I think you were given incorrect information.... I am sure the bolts are strong enough to handle the torque no harm ...

THANKS for replying

Yeah, back when I replied to that initial post the FSM doesn't show that set of the bolts, prior to that (when I first installed my lowering springs) I called my local Nissan dealer and spoke to one of the service techs and he was pretty quick to reply that the lower 3 bracket bolts are 89 ft lbs. It really is strange that those bolts aren't listed in the FSM, I know when I took them off they seemed to be pretty tight to remove, but that was a long time ago, seems like they were quite a bit tighter than 40 lbs but hmmmm. Tried digging around and still haven't found anything definitive. I'm going to keep looking as this is bugging me now
Luckily those bolts are very long w/ plenty of threading so that torque won't cause thread pulling like it would if they were only a 1/4" of threads
FWIW I've been running those bolts at that torque for 4+ years and installed coilovers since those springs

Good to know...I took them off yesterday and they definitely did not feel like 89 torqued bolts. Considering our wheels go on at around 85 when I took them off used a 1/4 inch socket set and they came right off..they felt about half that.. I think based on their location and what they do 45 to 55 seems more than adequate. However, if you have used them at 89 sounds good too...

Next time I'm down there I'll back them off, put a little Loctite blue on them and run them back to 50 ft lbs.

Still seems crazy that they don't have that listed in the FSM.

Wish member Soundmike still had his G, his site Gshack was good about listing torque specs and I'm fairly certain he would have those listed.

Hey blnewt, I had a hell of a time compressing these front Tanabee springs with the tight wind on top. Just did one yesterday....considering putting back on the stock coil and getting Tein street basis instead. Will I need to compress the Tein basis to use the stock upper mounts?

No, you won't need to compress the Tein Basis springs to install the top hats on the new setup. You'll only need to compress the springs on the stock setup to remove the top hat to transfer over for use on the basis.

Thanks for the clarification on the 3 bolts. Next time I have my wheels off if I remember, I'll retorque them.

^^^ I called Tien before you answered and they confirmed also that it is not necessary to compress the springs. Thanks Slade...
Nonetheless I took mine to a local shop and paid 60 bucks for them to compress and fix both. I had to explain to them the angles and such...but they got it right and I got em on! Really, not worth doing it yourself...

Thanks everyone.

Did you get your bolt? Every time I read this post, I wonder if you got your bolt.
