Front Caliper Rubbing

Hey Guys!

I'm new to this forum and a fairly new G owner (3 months ). I ordered a set of Verde V99 Axis wheels for my IPL 19x8.5 +38 for the front and 19x9.5 +38 for the rear sitting on stock tire sizing. I took two L's with this situation, one being from Verde misinforming me that +38 would clear my calipers and the second from the tire shop that didn't verify the rubbing. So I was left to slowly creep all the way home listening to the agonizing sound of my wheels smacking my front calipers

To get to the point; I was thinking of just getting 20mm spacers all the way around to fix this issue and achieve a flushed look as well. What do you guys recommend?

Can't believe you continued driving knowing that your calipers were in harms way But what's done is done, hopefully they didn't take too much of a beating.

Assuming it's just barely rubbing a small 3mm spacer should do the trick and you can continue using your OEM wheel studs, if you go to a 5mm you might need extended studs. You could get teh thicker bolt-on spacers, Ichiba makes them starting at 17mm some other brands as low as 15mm.
20mm all around may poke a bit in back w/ the wider 9.5 width wheels.

I'd take a paperback book that's 20mm thick, place it on the sidewall and then see if you like that fit, if not then go down to a 15.

I think I'd see if the vendor can compensate you for all this trouble and possibly new front calipers, I doubt you'll be able to have them looking like new again assuming they got hit pretty good.

Looking past the caliper clearance, what would be best for a flush look too? 20 mm in front and 15 mm in rear?

That sounds about right, I'd do that paperback check that I mentioned above just to confirm, since what may be flush to one might not be to another, as each person has there own idea of what that is

After taking a closer look, this is what I found The TPMS is the real culprit. Do you know of short or flush mounted systems? This doesn't happen in the rear.

I think Vossen makes a short stem set, might contact them and see, or a vendor that sells Vossen wheels.

That's not pretty, but much better than having the faces of your calipers all jacked up.

All is solved. The company ended up sending me new valve stem caps and spacers for free. Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of my TPMS dash light. Much appreciated my friend

Did you get new TPMS sensors installed w/ your wheels? If so you'll need to have a tire shop reprogram them, if they are OEMs there's a DIY that you might try

And of course if you're just running valve stems you'll just have to get used to that light or cover it w/ some electrical tape

Can you send me a link or picture to the exact stems they sent you to fix this? Because literally just had this happen to me on my car with these exact same wheels and width on my akebonos and also only happening on the front. Help me out ! lol
