Random question about icy roads

When snow and ice get packed down, it turns into the most annoying, rumply, rough drive to work. Aside from alignment issues, how bad is that kind of commute...specifically on struts, shocks, etc? It's not like hitting potholes, but it is quite rough.

On stock suspension you'll be fine. I drive on it 4 months a year.

If they use a lot of road salt it's best to try and take your car to a wash where they can blast the underside to remove the grime, or even better if you can DIY. That stuff will accelerate corrosion for sure.

I cant see how you would have alignment issues from driving in snow and ice. Other than the possible corrosion from the excess salt like Blnewt said there should not be an issue. The rough ride is no different than driving down a rough road every day...you are not going to need an alignement because of that. Depending on where you live too, you might not have to worry about the salt issue. Some places use sand instead of salt, so other than being grimey...
