Here's a question for you, are you looking for heavy wheels that look good or outdated looking wheels that have a better quality?

They're called classics a-hole!

I made the mistake of buying low-quality rims (TSW Thruxtons) when I first got the car. Now... I'm not saying Vossen are by any means low quality, but if I had to choose between Volk and Vossen, I would definitely get the Volks. If you like the CV2's, consider the Volk SF-Winnings.

Looking back, I'm glad I got rid of the TSW's and now sport Volk GT30s.

The GT30's definitely look good I won't deny, but those GTC's and TE37's belong in a museum now

You ain't ready for some real old school metal. Chrome Cragar Super Sports

When I first bought my G I considered slapping a set of these on her. But I went with the Volks. Timeless classics never go out of style

Volks. Had it on every car I owned in the past, save for my camry. Never been a fan of overweight wheels with some bling sprinkled on it. When it comes to wheels, for me single piece forged performance wheels with great looks are king.

The Volk GT series wheels aren't exactly light either and that's what the OP is asking about.

Yea it wasn't so much a question of brand vs brand but those exact wheels. My budget definitely isn't ready to buying a new set of Volks but a local guy had some GTC's he was selling for $1500 which is doable for me and there's also the Vossens from a member here that I like the look of as well. I believe the GTC comes in around 29-30 lbs which is similar to the Vossens.

Unfortunately the guy with Volks must have come to his senses because he got cold feet and decided he wanted to hold on to them after all as his back up set of wheels (first world problems). So it looks like it's either the Vossen's or I keep looking but these Sport wheels have to go because unfortunately it looks the previous owner intentionally sought out curbs to smash on a daily basis and I can't stomach looking at it any longer.

Oh I see...yeah those multi-piece aren't light either. If it's just a competition on looks, then yeah I think I'd lean towards vossens out of those two wheels.

Too bad. I have GT-C in 20" size and they aren't that heavy. I don't remember the exact weight but they're lighter than the OEM 19" sport wheels. I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 24-26 lbs. or so.

But good luck in your search or whatever you decide on. Finding wheels that you like, can afford, and are in good shape is certainly a challenge.

If you compare Vossens to a multi-piece forged wheel then it's obviously apples to oranges. Vossens look better than any Volks IMO and unless you're racing then you are doing it for asthetics and I never bent one and with great tires not cheap ones the ride and handling are superb.
