Brake noise

Hi guys! I recently just pick up a 12 g37x coupe last week and I was wondering if it is normal to hear a hissing? noise when I apply my brakes? I look at what the dealership done to my car before I got to pick it up and notice they did do work on the rear brakes. I'm really not sure if its coming from the rear brakes or not. Is this noise normal with the g37?

It's not normal, I'd take it back to the dealer and let them check it out. When the pads get close to fully worn the wear "feeler" will lightly contact the rotor when the brakes are applied letting you know it's time to change pads, but if they already did that then something is amiss.

Brake noise

Thanks for the reply. If it turns out to be a brake pad issue. I would most likey pay for this myself since it is consider a wear and tear item correct? Strange the pads would already be worn out at 22k miles though. On paper it mentions rear brakes 20m or something. Not sure if that means they jus resurface the rear rotors or something

Rear rotors are 16mm thick and a minimum 15mm.
As far as the noise, I'd get that looked at, w/ 20k miles you're right, it's highly unlikely the pads need changing. Just let them know the issue you're having w/ the hissing sound and go out w/ one of the service guys and hopefully you can replicate that sound for them to hear.

Hey, did you ever find out what that hissing noise was? I'm hearing the same thing on my 2012 G37S and it's really annoying me now.

Thanks

Brake noise

I try to show one of the service guy the noise but it couldnt really be heard too well...it best to hear when your in an enclosed area like a garage. The service guy that I was riding with said this is a normal noise.... I have to wait till this tues to bring it in again and to get it check out b/c they didnt have a loaner car I can use. Im actually gonna get my passenger rattle door noise fix, center console lid replace cause it wont close and 2 of my led passenger tail light is out as well replace. Here hoping everything will be cover under warranty. Ill update if I find anything out about the brake hissing noise.
