Broken spc arm
So I was driving the other day going about 60mph, and my car just spun out (thankfully didn't get hurt, or hit anyone. Had to get it towed to a friends shop for the night. Next day he called and told me it was because the control arm broke, and it was actually put on backwards. The reason for the post is I'm basically out a control arm, he just ordered a normal on from infiniti, and cost me around 250$ to fix it. The main problem I'm having is the guy who apparently "put it ok backwards" has always done all my suspension work for me being that he's the only person in fayetteville, nc that will touch a lowered infiniti. So 1. Is there anyway I can get a new control arm and 2. Anyone know anyone around the nc area to align our cars.
I believe you are talking about the front upper control arm, correct? I'm not certain the the control arm can be installed backward. If you get in touch with SPC I'm sure they'd love to see the broken part and if it is somehow a defective part they'll ship you another one out.
Also, have your friend with the shop install it. It's not difficult at all.

Wow Brandon, sorry to hear about that, glad you're OK.
Agree w/ vqsmile, you shouldn't have to pony up a cent, that guy/shop who did the work should be on the hook (and for more than the cost of the part IMO).

The SPC fronts were re-designed about a year or so ago and I have heard about problems with the rears. I went with all SPL but it is about 2x the cost of SPC but if you physically compare them; you can see the difference in design and quality.
No. SPC is just fine. If the part isn't installed correctly, it's hardly a defect if it fails. SPC knockoffs come in various inferior levels of quality, but SPC suspension parts have a solid reputation overall.
Where did the OP buy the SPC parts? Is there a reason you suspect them being knockoffs or just making a general statement? I understand failure due to improper installation, would be nice to know what the real cause for failure was. I would have the manufacturer inspect the parts and wait for their report.
